TRUTH -2020 RIPE 200G

A special tribute cake to Ruth Bader Ginsburg, our tRuth cake honors her enduring legacy in championing equal rights for all and like her, will age beautifully. Meg Sutherland made the wrapper art for this small-batch pressing (200 cakes total) and used RBG’s signature with a “t” in front. We love it.

Proceeds from the sale of this cake will be donated to the Women’s Shelter and Support Center in Rochester, MN so buy a cake of great tea and support a great cause, one that serves to protect, educate and empower women and families!

What a find these leaves were! Picked in spring 2020 from trees grown in Menghai County grown in fresh, clean air, they have been expertly processed, yielding super clean and thick flavor with no off-putting post-fermentation funk.

The leaves are beautiful and whole, the tea liquor rich, thick, with just the right balance between your favorite old book smell and the hints of chocolatey bitter and sweetness, with a hint of licorice in the aftertaste. We don’t want to wish time away, but this is going to age like a true champion ripe tea, developing in complexity over the next several months and years. Highly recommended!

Steamed and pressed in November 2020. 1 Oz samples are pried from the larger cake and packaged in our resealable bags with a label (description and brewing instructions).
