Another one I get to try from Kawaii433! Thanks again for that awesome package. :D Surprisingly I had to add this to Steepster… hope it’s not already on here somewhere. The leaves here looked like enough for one of my mug sized servings. A teaspoon and three extra pearls. I’ve always been a fan of these guys. The jasmine tea paired with this light and airy green tea has always been a perfect combination. The jasmine isn’t overdone, not too much for those who don’t love jasmine, not too little that it’s unnoticeable. The third steep still had plenty of jasmine within the mug and seemed the sweetest jasmine flavor of the three steeps. The pearls slowly unraveled, so I’m sure that helped the flavor last through three cups. This tea is lovely and perfect for brightening a winter day (oh, but jasmine is also especially nice during a hot summer day).

Steep #1 // 1 heaping teaspoon for a full mug // 35 minutes after boiling // 2 minute steep
Steep #2 // 30 minutes after boiling // 2 minute steep
Steep #3 // 26 minutes after boiling // 2-3 min

WHOOPS. I was searching ‘mandala jasmine’ so that result wasn’t popping up at all. Why doesn’t mandala list them as jasmine? hmm.

Cameron B.

I’m not sure there is such a thing as a dragon pearl that isn’t jasmine. So maybe that’s why they don’t list it specifically?

Kawaii433

I hear you… And I always make duplicates >.<.

AH, well I did not know that. I thought dragon pearls were just a specific green tea. Some were jasmine and some weren’t. But now I’ll assume jasmine.

Cameron B.

Don’t take my word for it! I’ve just never seen a non-jasmine version.

But then there are black dragon pearls that aren’t usually jasmine? oh boy.

Mastress Alita

A dragon pearl is just processing format of tea, when it’s rolled into the small balls. It can be black tea, green tea, white tea, etc. Kinda like how a “tuocha” are the little pressed nests, but don’t dictate sheng or shou.
