ROASTED JAPANESE TEA

Our organic Hojicha green tea is produced by the Nakai Seicha tea farm in Wazuka, Kyoto, Japan. Hojicha’s brown color comes from roasting the tea over charcoal (most Japanese greens are steamed, and thus Hojicha is slightly unusual because of this). Naturally low in caffeine (because of this roasting process), Hojicha is a fantastic tea for anytime of tea, especially before bed or at night.

INGREDIENTS:

Organic Japanese Hojicha Green Tea.

Tea 7/11 of the tea I got from M&K’s etsy shop. I got a green tea sampler pack (10 teas) + they threw in one sample which was also a green tea :). Each of the samples I got were enough for 2-3 “servings” of tea.

I steeped half of this sample in 10 oz of 175 degree water for 3min. I have another Hojicha tea so I knew what to expect. The taste of the tea is roasted and smokey, but not overpowering since I brewed it weak.

Overall it’s pretty nice but I still feel like it’s a bit too strong for my taste (and stomach). My husband loves this tea so he’ll get all the Hojicha, but unfortuanetly its not a repurchase for me. If I want a smokeier tea I think I’ll buy gunpowder.

for me the stuff goes bad quickly

Kristal

Oh really? What happens when it turns bad on you?

Kirkoneill1988

it gets a sour smell, but is still drinkable but a lot less enjoyable :(

Kirkoneill1988

hojicha doesent like me so it croaks on me lol ;)

Kristal

Aw :( sorry to hear that! I’ll keep my eyes (and nose and mouth!) out for those smells and tastes. As mentioned, the Hojicha will be given to my husband until it’s used up :)
