I got this from Cameron B.! Thank you! This one looks really exciting. 153 reviews and most of them are glowing. Seeing a lot of 100’s!

I definitely needed something caffeine free this evening after an ill-advised cup of black coffee. Now, I don’t really like rooibos unless the added flavors drown it out. Something about the aftertaste. Though green rooibos, like in this tea, usually isn’t as bad. I’m trusting you guys on this one.

The tiny green and brown needles smell very melony, with a funky kind of musk that’s hard to describe. Though as the tea steeps, it fades away, leaving behind sweet fruitiness. I taste honeydew and cantaloupe in the most realistic way. There is nothing remotely candylike or artificial about it. Just natural, wonderful melon. The rooibos is gentle and in the background, keeping this from tasting like pure fruit juice.

I find myself thinking this might be like Harney & Son’s Earl Grey Supreme in the way that I’ll never find another tea that nails the flavor so perfectly. Lupicia has set a standard for melon tea in my head now.

I’m so glad I have enough to make this again, but over ice… though someone mentioned coldbrewing it and that idea is sounding very, very good.

Definitely the standard for melon teas here!

This has a light melon/vegetal taste. It’s actually better with less sugar than I usually put in. It’s so hard to assign a number value to this one since I only had a sample (kindly provided by Cameron B). This is definitely one to try. Different from other melon teas I’ve had. Probably more accurate to actual melons than to what melon flavored candies etc usually taste like.

One of my favorites from Lupicia!

But I have a honeydew bias, i just really love this fruit and you don’t see this flavor often in the tea market. You don’t really get the sourness that usually comes with roobois in this golden variety so it keeps that mellow smooth honeydew flavor. You can’t really oversteep with this herbal since you don’t have to worry about the sourness so it’s perfect for long brewed or cold brew iced teas.

Yes there is sugar in this tea, little konpeito candies where most of the sweet honeydew flavor is concentrated but the overall scent is well infused in the tea. You can take them out to avoid the sugar if you like. A fun tea that really wows the crowd.

Lupicia has a way with melon. Their white melon was quite wonderful. This is another success.

You wouldn’t know it from the dry blend — it has an intense, pungent smell that was mildly disturbing in its intensity and somewhat chemical. But all that goes away with the steeping.

The aroma is just honeydew — no distracting other flavors, and even the rooibos is undetectable. Fortunately, that’s also the case with the flavor.

It’s a little subtle, but not too much so, nor does it taste like the run off from a melon. It’s got a nice balance, a touch of sweetness, and a fascinating freshness to the mouthfeel. The liquor is a pretty astonishing intense orange and clear.

Definitely a keeper.

This flavored Rooibos is everything I would hope for. From the tasting sips at Lupicia to having it at home in my own cup, the aroma and the taste is a very pleasant experience.

Rooibos takes to flavoring very well. But, for me, it must deliver if the expectations are high from a pleasing and strong scent. This one definitely follows through. You know it is Honey Dew. And the flavor melds perfectly with the nuttiness that is rooibos.

This is super melon tasting and sweet! This green rooibos tea tastes just like those green melon asian candies. It also makes a great iced tea.

However, the melon is strong and overpowers the green rooibos base. The good thing is this rooibos isn’t watery, but this tea is pretty much like drinking melon juice. I like it, but I can see if not appealing for some people.

Up until now, cold brewing Golden Honey Dew has been off limits because I only have 50g and I’ve been hoarding it like mad. Between the terrible dollar exchange and the fact that I haven’t found any other Lupicia tea worthy of reordering, I don’t now when I’ll ever get more of this liquid gold.

But I did treat myself to a jug of cold brew after holding into this for 3/4 of a year, as it’s starting to lose a little bit of its beautiful aroma and flavour.

This does not disappoint. It’s like drinking a Melona bar. Genius blend!

If you’ll pm me your mailing addy I’ll send you my nearly full tin of it. I like it, but I don’t love it. It would be good to send it to a home that will show it the proper appreciation. :)

No really, it’s ok! Don’t worry about it. :)

This is one of my favorite teas. It’s really does taste like a hot version of a honey dew melon…and that works. It has a bright, fresh, fruity taste. It’s perfect when I want something light (vs black tea with milk) and flavorful. I’m sad to be nearing the end of my tin—but enjoying every cup of it! :)

Have I not reviewed this yet? :O
I absolutely love this tea. LOVE.
First of all, it’s green rooibos. I wish tea makers would do more with green rooibos. I wish they’d chuck out red rooibos and just focus on the green. But anyway… The taste is so much like sweet ripe melon it’s like magic. You don’t need a lot of leaf to make a well flavored cup, but even so, I’ve ordered 3 pouches of this already in the last year. I never reorder teas at this rate. Delicious.
