From Lupicia

JARDIN SAUVAGE is an unoxidized green rooibos tea scented with sweet ripe mangoes and fresh citrus. This caffeine-free rooibos is rich in minerals and can be enjoyed by anyone, any time of the day. We named this tea JARDIN SAUVAGE (in French, roughly translated: untouched, wild garden) for the natural, untouched beauty of green rooibos.

This is not at all what I thought it would be based on the description. I’m not getting any of the delicious mango flavor that I was hoping for. Pretty much just smells and tastes of lime. Not loving this one, unfortunately.

Wow, this is really nice. I forgot that green rooibos, when done well, can be an excellent delivery vehicle for fruit flavors.

There’s a really nice mango smell upon opening the packet. The liquor is orange — a really orangey orange, which was somewhat surprising. It is almost Orange Fanta orange, but not quite. I’m glad for that, as it would be startling. It’s not opaque so it has a softer hue.

After steeping it’s not very aromatic, but it has a very nice, primarily mango flavor with a touch of orange. The rooibos isn’t noticeable taste-wise. I think it’s main impact is to cut any tendency toward over sweetness, which is actually a good thing.

This is one of my favourites. Stonefruits and green rooibos are such a good combination. Especially with the mango in there.

It’s lovely, for sure.

Light and fruity! I like it. I’m partial to mango though.

I had no idea what to expect for this one, but I assumed it was a black/caffeinated tea. I’m glad it was rooibos, though, because the rooibos makes it nice and sweet.

Strong fruity flavours, distinctly fresh mango juice and apricot. There might be some other stonefruits, but the mango is most notable. The base is sweet and there are not tart/sour notes in this at all. Lupicia did a fruity herbal blend well. M little pyramid bag was in for 6 minutes and did not oversteep, but was very flavourful. I will be ordering these when I order from Lupicia, as this is the best mango flavoured tea I’ve ever had.

With a French word like Sauvage I was very much expecting a black flavored tea of some sort. Not so much. This tea goes quite well with my sandwich. Sweet. Kumquat, citrus, maybe some honey dew? Perhaps this tea is best sipped cold in a garden?

It came across as generic fruit to me but at least it was green rooibos, which is always a treat.

Oh, well. The search for my true Mango Tea continues.

Word! It’s nearly impossible to find a realistic mango-flavoured tea.

I like Capital Teas natural mango with black tea base.

I will have to check that out then!

Groggily reached for this sampler tea bag this morning, not having any idea of what it was. This is definitely a new favorite for me. The tropical fruit flavor is just right. It’s not too much and not too little.

I’ll definitely have to purchase this when the weather gets warmer, as it will certainly taste lovely iced.

This didn’t work for me cold, but I’m having it hot today, and it’s alright.

The flavours are “tropical”-ish. I added a bit of blackberry honey because it needed some sweetening, and I need to use up some of the things I have in the cupboard.

I thought I’d like this a lot more, based on the smell. But I don’t.

Thanks so much for sharing, MissB! (I think I’ll be giving this away. Anyone whose address I have interested?)

It’s always so disappointing when the smell doesn’t transfer to the taste.

OMGsrsly

It does, but not in a way that works for me. I thought it was a green rooibos base like Golden Honeydew, but it steeps up quite a different colour. So I’m thinking the base is changing the taste of this one more than the green rooibos changes the taste of the other.

Not My Cup O’ Tea TTB

Mmm, this is lovely! Lupicia really seems to nail their fruity flavors. This one is sweet, luscious mango with just a hint of zippy citrus to keep it from being too cloying. I enjoyed it hot, but I’m guessing it would also be amazing iced. Excited to be adding this to my tea collection for the summer!
