The strong smell of the dry leaf scared me a little, so I made a test cup first instead of committing to a whole pot. It smelled something like a wine tea, much more sharp and fruity than I expected from a strictly rose + Darjeeling blend. Turns out I had nothing to fear; the brew has a dark, floral Darjeeling flavor with potent, but balanced rosy taste and aroma. Exactly what I’d hoped for. Yay!

I am happy that I started my day with this. While steeping, it gave out a bouquet so floral and enchanting that I could see roses blooming in front of me. Sometimes, a nice scent and a little bit of imagination is all you need to induce positive mood. The flowery notes of Darjeeling blended in with the rose petals harmoniously, giving this tea a very smooth taste. Oooo… I feel so girly right now. ;)

What a nice scent when you first open those little packages from Lupicia. Just found out about this brand and I can say it was a great surprise. Be careful not to let it steep for too long. Otherwhise, your tea could taste somehow bitter, even if the rose perfume remains there.

Morning writing session, aided by tea.
I really like the balance here. Darjeeling can be strong, as can rose, but this blend doesnt let one flavor overpower the other one. It would be all too easy to have one of these flavors be too much, but this is a happy mix.
I like it, but its a strong cup. Be warned.
