From Lupicia

Lightly roasted oolong tea from Fujian province with a natural elegant aroma similar to osmanthus flowers. Good for multiple steeps with a lighter, floral taste compared to the heavier roasty sweetness of Tikuanyin or Taiwan Dongding, the body of this tea becomes richer after the first steep. Recommended for those who prefer lighter roasted oolongs without the greener taste of pouchong.

Clean and light flavor; this would be a good tea with some light food or snacks. This is one of the teas that Lupicia suggest 3.7 oz (110ml) of water to steep with.

This is another from my Lupicia happy bag. I’m not usually a fan of green oolongs, but I do enjoy osmanthus. So far I’ve only had this cold-steeped, and I like it pretty well that way. It’s a nice mix of vegetal and floral—mainly from the osmanthus, luckily, and not so much from the oolong—and makes for pretty mellow drinking. It’s not something I’d restock, but I certainly won’t have any trouble finishing up my supply.

Finally got to do a Lupicia order! My 1st tea order in a year! Still being out of a job, I havn’t been able to buy tea much…(Plus my Mom thinks I have a ridiculous amount as it is, even with giving my cousin a couple of boxes chock full of tea. Though thinking I should probably do another culling soon.) But anyways, due to lack of room and not much money this will probably be my only order this year…Cries

I wasn’t planning on getting a happy bag, but I saw that Lupicia was listing what teas were in the bag (Kind of sad that I couldn’t get the $50 bag but oh well.) and that it included Cookie, and a few that I wanted to try, I decided to go ahead and get it, and add a few more to the list. This was a Happy Bag one.

It’s quiet and unassuming, I am sort of enjoying drinking this tea but I can’t say that I am particularly inspired by it. In fact another steepster mentioned that it was just above ‘Meh’ and I think that sums it up perfectly. Debating whether or not to give it up to my cousin, but I think I will. Hopefully she will enjoy it more then me.

Sipdown (95)

I hoped for something more with this tea but all I’m getting is oolong. Not for me.

I generally prefer Oolongs and Greens over other varieties, so I knew I wouldn’t dislike it. The osmanthus in the tea gave this Oolong based tea a nice, hint of a floral note. The tea had barely any astringency (yay!). Overall an excellent tea.
