The Ali Shan scenic area in Taiwan is famous for its Mountain wilderness, beautiful sunrises and high-altitude tea plantations. The plantations are relatively new having only been developed in the 1920s.

tea from Ali Shan is grown between 1000 and 1800 meters making it a high mountain tea. this particular Ali Shan oolont was grown at an elevation of 1600 meters
