136/365

I almost passed over this one again today, because silver needle isn’t exactly exciting…and jasmine isn’t my thing. I’m glad I didn’t, though, because I like this, maybe in spite of myself.

I was expecting the jasmine to be the more powerful flavour, but the white tea actually predominates. There’s a creamy fruitiness right up front (I’m guessing that might be the starfruit…?), and then a gentle fade into fragrant, floral jasmine. It’s so much nicer than I expected it to be (not that I expected it to be horrible, but you know), and significantly more unique. That creaminess!

This would make an excellent tea for a mild spring day. If spring ever gets here this year.

Thanks to JK7Ray for selling me this sample. I /finally/ got around to finishing off a bunch of samples that are getting older.

This is a nice jasmine tea, some vegetal and light tea notes. The bitterness shines through in the after taste, but I should have timed it so I didn’t oversteep.

The jasmine is incredibly strong being nearly perfumey. Which I like. I like them pearls and I my white tea. But this tea was actually a bit strong for me. I tasted more of the green tea followed by the massively overwhelming hay white and honeysuckle. Then there’s the pollen which is INCREDIBLY potent. Basically, this is spring tea-sonified-gorgeous flowers and allergens included.

I’m going to try again for a weaker tea. I could have over steeped it.

This tea is a bit strange. It’s got a good jasmine flavour to it but I’m getting all kinds of other flavours as well. I can’t really pick out the white tea from the green but it still blends nicely together. I think I can pick out the honeysuckle but there are 3 ingredients that are foreign to me. I don’t know what these taste like:
Bee pollen
blue pea flower
dried star fruit

It might be the bee pollen I am picking up. Just wondering what those above things taste like. It’s a strange mix to add to the tea but it does work. LP, you are very creative. Can you give a little insight into this tea? I’ve read your tasting note on it and saw your Facebook video but still wonder… why star fruit? Why bee pollen? What is blue pea flower?

That weird taste is probably blue pea flower. It’s that flower people were using as a tea that became popular because it brews blue. I don’t like the taste because it’s like a wild funk that won’t leave you alone; however, others seem to like it. One day I just decided that I wanted to have ‘fairy dust’ on one of my teas and well, floral was the way to go… but then I realized it has to be sweet and colorful, so I did what I did. Hopefully all of that makes sense.

Thanks for the info.

I did a google on it now and all these blue tea pictures came up. It is very pretty. Finally found one that says it tastes woody and earthy. Interesting! It has many health benefits too. First time for me even hearing about it.

nothing you do makes sense btw LP

Thanks again Liquid Proust

Mmm jasmine. I like the blend of white and green tea with the jasmine. It seems to keep the green tea in check. The jasmine is nice and light and not overpowering. I also detected a bit of honeysuckle (maybe I am just crazy). This is a decent jasmine.

The resteep was a little astringent but this is probably my error of overstepping. I am very sensitive to green tea getting bitter.

I used 1.5tsp of leaf

This was a really nice, lighter flavored tea for this evening. The liquid felt smooth and light in my mouth. It had the feel of a white tea with some of the flavor from a Jasmine tea with each playing a minor to the others major, if that makes sense. Look, it’s late. Basically, this is a really nice and dependable blend for those times when you want a lighter and slightly floral tea.

It’s 11pm and I realized I was drinking shou… no no no… switching to something floral to ease me for the night.

So here’s the story about this tea: Once upon a time Princess Jasmine and Mulan ended up having a tea party and Princess Jasmine brought silver tipped white tea to show off an elegant tea but Mulan had brought some rolled green jasmine tea. They discussed the order of drinking the two teas, does floral come after or before? The solution was to mix the two teas and then tell Mr. Richardson about the experience of a white tea over powering jasmine until the second steep when the jasmine shines, but Mr. Richardson was like “I’m going to spice this up a bit, I mean ‘floral’ this up a bit”. So he made some tea seasoning and made one odd tea.

Anyways, why did I steep this tea like this??? http://postimg.org/image/prk0qrcyf/full/
Talk about a rookie mistake :/
