I steamed on the rinse, and then drank the rinse anyway. I could tell where this one was going. Lots of up front woody notes from the roast, keeping water in the ~205DEGF range.
A great deal of flavor on the tongue, with some astringency/puckering. Hallmark oolong taste comes in after first hit with a little green flushing and a strong/long finish. 8g might have even been too much for my 150mL gaiwan, which is surprising since I am usually into about 10g of oolong with that much water.
Definitely fewer floral/honey notes on this one and more roasty, nutty goodness.
