From KayTeas & Herb Co.

This is a straightforward and classic black tea from China. It brews a crisp and lightly sweet, earthy cup with a medium body. It is a great base for blending and for iced teas (as it does not cloud when chilled). This tea also takes the addition of cream and sugar well. Black tea is recognized for its high levels of antioxidants but it also helps to lower (bad) LDL cholesterol and contains caffeine which helps with mental focus and overall energy.

Directions: Add 1 tea bag to 8 oz of hot water. Let steep for 1-3 mins, optional add milk, sugar/honey. Enjoy!

Loose leaf: Add 1 heaping teaspoon to steeper, place steeper in mug and pour 8 oz of hot water in mug. Let steep for 1-3 mins, optional add milk, sugar/honey. Enjoy!

March Madness Sipdown

This was from today’s face off with W2T’s 2016 White Chocobrick tea.

I had forgotten until I went to measure out the tea leaf that this tea had been scent contaminated during shipping – it has a really distinct spearmint aroma and taste from another tea it was shipped with. I actually think the hint of spearmint compliments the very malty, robust and smooth black tea overall but it was hard to feel justified in giving this tea the win since it’s not intentionally supposed to be a part of the tea…

Ultimately I chose the W2T tea as the winner.
