From Joy's Teaspoon

Oolong is a specialty, which was originally produced in the Taiwanese mountains. After plucking, the teas are pre-fermented and then wilted in the sun. Frequent turning of the tea in bamboo baskets during the drying process allows the Oolong to develop a mild aroma and a large, wildly curled leaf. After steeping, the still green leaf center with the fermented leaf edges becomes clearly visible. It is very light in the cup and has a flowery and spicy taste.

This is a very pleasant oolong. It is very smooth, slightly floral, and very woodsy. When I smell it, I feel like I’m sitting in a cozy log cabin, drinking my oolong tea! It is also slightly sweet, and light. I don’t get any spicy notes, I’m wondering if my water temp was not hot enough. i used the hot water from the office machine since I’m at work. I will need to try this again at home, when I can get the water a bit hotter. I’m curious to see how the taste will change! This is a nice tasty basic oolong.

Another lovely sample from the lovely Naomi at Joy’s Teaspoon! I wish I could say something beyond the store’s description, but it’s pretty spot-on. This is a nice, pleasant oolong with a surprising lightness and a slight flavor of sweetness, flowers, and spices. I can’t see myself going out of my way to get more, but it’s yummy.

This reminds me of the kind of Oolong you would get at a nice oriental restaurant, except darker. Definitely woodsy, dark in color, nice smell to it. Would be good to drink after eating too much at the “all you can eat bar”
