Sipdown! Still a very pleasant tea. One I should have cold steeped as I feel it would be a great one for that, but maybe next time. I’m in Spring Clean 2014 mode as my mom is here next week for a few days. So I’m just trying to clear out some tea to make it look less bad of a problem to her. :P

I always forget about the samples from Evol Ving Ness which are tucked away in a shoebox. However, today I was in search of a tea to pair with some of the goods from the One of a Kind show for my tea photo. This jumped out as something that would go nicely with the lemon squares I got. Citrus tea and citrus snack can’t go wrong. It had the added benefit of likely going well with honey and since I’ve felt off all day, tea and honey seemed like a good plan.

My first sips without honey we’re pretty underwhelming. I really got no flavour from it. I blame age…or my storage or both. Perhaps it wasn’t steeped long enough. I blame myself for this being bland.

I added in a generous squeeze or two of honey and now it just tastes like a honeyed black tea: Nothing special but it’s soothing.

The initial sip didn’t thrill me. The harsh orange lemon against the black tea caught in the throat and seemed mismatched somehow. After I added a spoon of honey, the flavours mellowed to caramel citrus fruit with a whisper of spices. Nice tea. Very happy to have pulled out the honey.

After a few days of lovely breezes and gentle sunny days, the humidity is creeping up from today to intolerable levels tomorrow: feels like 40C prediction. Kill me now.

I actually had this one before I left for ottawa to try and compare it to the rooibos version of this tea. Sadly now that I’ve been away from it for a while, I can’t recall much Beyond the fact that I did enjoy it! Lol this was another from bear with me :)

Backlog. The last of the three samples I picked up from Janet. The scent of the dry leaf makes you think that it should automatically earn a gold star, but I’m not really a fan of the taste? Probably because I’m not a huge fan of citrus + spice teas. I mean, they’re ok, but they all seem to taste almost the same. The taste was kind of… convoluted, muddled, confused-faced. But no loss since I love her Dolce Orange anyway. This is also a sip down because I drank the whole sample in one day.
