Pouchong Tea (Wen-Shan Bao Zhong, Pao Chong) is a lightly oxidized tea with the qualities of both green tea and Oolong tea. It has a slightly stronger flavor than green tea but milder than the typical dark Oolong tea. This Wen-Shan Pouchong Tea is grown in the Ping Lin region of Northern Taiwan.
This Oolong tea is noteworthy for its unique fresh floral aroma. When you open a bag of Pouchong tea, try to enjoy the fragrance and appreciate the appearance of the full, long and twisted deep green leaves.
Once steeped, the leaves produce a light golden liquor color and a smooth, refreshing taste that soothes to the back of the throat. Known for having a light and floral fresh flavor and being forgiving, this tea is very popular among locals in Taiwan.
