This pu-erh is packed inside a tiny kumquat, one of the smallest fruits in the citrus family. The combination and aging of the tea inside the citrus skin affects the flavor of course and is also meant to increase the medicinal qualities. I find it enjoyable to drink – although more for pleasure than medicine. The patented process belongs to the factory in Yunnan that produces it, the Guang He company which is an offshoot of the famous Meng Hai Factory in Meng Hai Yunnan. The tea is aged for a year and I would suggest adding a small piece of the kumquat skin to the pot to heighten the citrus character of the tea broth.
