2005 Spring Sun-dried Yi Wu Mao Cha

A very clean, dry-stored semi-aged mao cha with interesting combination of foral/herbal fragrance and energetic after-taste. Not from a single Yi Wu region, but a “cocktail” of several YiWu regions that were left-over after productions for a Taipei teahouse. I was excited by the price-to-quality/ageing ratio and decided to make it available on Hou De.

Not a trace of smokiness and “wet-storage” feeling. Liquor is clean with a light-brown color. Liquor tastes thick yet smooth enough. A nice floral and herbal fragrance and a hearty “acidic” feeling in the taste together make the tasting experience interesting and dynamic. Very loooong and energetic after taste, good Hui Gan and durability.

A great semi-aged pu-erh with quality and potential, sans brandname cost, and taste/price so good that it can be your everyday pu-erh!
