From Highland Tea Box

Cherry Compote Fruit Tea is a strong, full-bodied infusion packed with an unmistakably fruity punch. It blends the indulgent aromas and flavours of cherries with those of raspberries and bananas to create a match made in heaven.

Our Cherry Compote Fruit Tea is indeed well-served as a cooling, refreshing beverage during the summer months. Yet it makes for a warming, nourishing brew in the dead of winter, too.

I want to like this tea, I really do. I got it at a local farmers market from a very nice lady, but so far it has rather put me off. Luckily the scent of paint thinner disappears when the tea is steeped (perhaps it is the packaging?) and once brewed it smells mostly of hibiscus, which is presumably also what makes it rather tart. Once a sweetener is added (against recommendation) the cherry flavour does bloom, reminding of pie filling. From there it is not an unpleasant drink at all… now if only I could get past that first impression. WIll have to try it again at a later date.
