Sipdown! Eight years ago, I rated this a 91 and apparently quite liked it. I didn’t specify at the time but I suspect that I had the sachet version. It would not be the first time that there’s been a noticeable difference between the sachet and loose leaf versions of a Harney blend (thinking of the Pumpkin Spice blend in particular). This sipdown is for the loose leaf version, which seems to skew more heavily towards the mint. Most of the time I didn’t get much of a lemon or citrus note at all. It was a perfectly serviceable peppermint tea, but I found that it mostly fit a utilitarian purpose for soothing migraines and stomach aches rather than being a blend I reach for when I’m craving peppermint. I just have better versions in my stash now.

Sooo the second time my boyfriend came to visit me, I let him try a Harney & Sons tea-the SoHo Blend, and he loved it. Also this year him and his bro and his bro’s gf came out as a birthday surprise for their mum (my boyfriend and his bro lived in England at the time and his parents live in NY, where he is now), so I sent him a package full of some tea samples I’d wanted him to try for the longest time-I had to get him off of the classic English Breakfast tea with milk. :P He can’t go back anymore! Muahahahahahaha!
Anyway, one of the samples I gave him was Paris, and he loved it too!
So he finally graduated Uni about a month ago and I get to see him on Monday, he’s coming for a short visit-Monday to Saturday since he’s planning to come for this Christmas anyway. Had to place a H&S order for his graduation present. Got him the SoHo blend and The Tower of London-but the 5 satchets little tin. Oh my goodness, When I opened the package I almost missed the tin because it’s so tiny! XD
But anyway, since it’s like Paris I thought he’d like it. (: I just gotta finish a cross stitch for him and then his graduation gift will be complete! :D So excited!
Anyway!
Got three samples with that order. Two were the same old boring teas, like the chai one and the pomegranat one plus an iced tea pouch. This one was the only new one-so I had to try!
And all I really gotta say is that it was minty. Very very minty. Tried really hard to find another flavor or something, but no. It was just a crap load of mint in that mug for both steeps! It wasn’t bad-I mean, I had two cups of it. But it wasn’t amazing either. Was a fine tea, just not something I’d buy or drink again. Kinda a boring tea to be honest :P But hey, better boring than bad!

I swear I have logged this tea before, but maybe not. This sachet came in my recent H&S order, along with a huge hand full of others. I manged to catch a summer bug. I blame my one year old:) The daycare is just a cesspool of germs that she brings home and shares with me. My tasters are not great. I tried to drink a cup of Golden Monkey yesterday and that did not end well so I am sticking with the mint teas in my stash until this bug runs for the hills.

With my bad tasters, this was really nice. It was calming, soothing, minty with a slight creaminess. I think I have another sachet of this stashed away at work that I will resteep over and over again. Thank you H&S for the great sample.

Hope you feel better soon! Sullivan and I just got over a nasty cold too. No fun.

Backlog. This was actually my favorite tea from vacation—the mint is light and sweet, and the verbena adds a nice citrus note to the cup. It’s a simple combination but it’s one of the most pleasant mint teas I’ve tried. This seems to be one of Harney’s staples, so I’m actually surprised I haven’t tried it before now!

A single serve sachet of this was tucked into one of my birthday gifts. Not a bad minty herbal. I’m just never going to be that impressed with an herbal tea, so no rating on this one. Though tonight I did enjoy it :)

I agree, I never even browse the herbal section of tea websites. The only exception is Butiki’s Birthday Cake – I want to try it!

Is it your birthday? If so, Happy Birthday! If it’s not today, Happy Late Birthday! :)

Thanks! It was last Saturday :)

Hello.Kiki

Thanks guys! Today was supposed to be my day off but I kept getting calls from work. All. Day. Long.
I’ve also been stressing about starting medical school here in June. There’s a lot of prep and paperwork and I just want to make sure I’m on top of everything. I tend to do a lot of needless worrying though. The hubby turned things around and made tonight “date night” for us, thank goodness. It was nice to have a night out with him.

I know what you mean about needless worrying, I do it on a daily basis unfortunately :( happy your hubby could help turn your day around! They always know how to make you feel better:) try not to stress too much! Luckily tea helps with not stressing:)

Hello.Kiki

Ahh yes, tea and yoga for me. Not a cure all, but a pretty good start!

TTB Tea 5: Right now, my tea is the only thing keeping me warm in the poorly insulated building where I work for one of my jobs.

I really like mint, so I was very interested in trying this one, and seeing how the other flavors play with the mint. Unfortunately, I’m getting mostly mint and not much else. If I had more, I’d be interested in playing around with the parameters to see what brings out the flavors that aren’t mint

Edit: Wow I said the word “mint” a lot in this very short review. Mint mint mint mint mint

The best lemon-mint tea I’ve had. I haven’t had many mint teas(4-5)but this was great. I probably haven’t been introduced to a high quality mint yet :p. First tried it at a local Crepes and Grapes with a soup and sandwich and I knew it was great from the first sip. The leaves fully unfurled in the pyramid satchet with an astonishing weight for a teabag. The liqour was not very murky at all compared to many bagged herbal teas Ive had, and the taste was more pleasant than astringent; lemon verbena present but maybe not as much in taste than aroma. Enjoyed every last sip and was able to resteep it for a second cup. Would recommend to lovers of mint herbal teas.

I’m not typically a mint tea fan, but I do like this tea. The verbena tones down the mint and has a lovely scent. It is also good iced.

Currently in tea fiend mode as I nearly inhaled a pot of gunpowder and realizing the time felt I should switch to something with no caffeine…anyways picked a couple packets (:o ) of this up at the Museum of Art a couple of days back and hadn’t tried it yet.
I am a thorough lover and mint but still don’t like any one scent overpowering a brew that should be working together, which this does, beautifully. Refreshing and invigorating, weird how that works but I couldn’t be happier with it! The taste is very clean and cool and like the smell neither taste completely dominates although mint gladly takes front role as always but is nice enough to let the verbena get some cheery notes through the finish…bliss.
Just what I needed right now,it’s definitely able to be enjoyed all day long as well I’m sure.
This also seems like a perfect companion for almost any tea,a nice delicate white,a grassy green or a solid black!
Looking forward to purchasing more.
