A friend brought over a bag of Blueberry Green that we are splitting and brought some sachets of this tea for us to try as well. I thought I had tasted most of the teas that Harney and Sons offers, but looking at their website and new offerings, I see that I have some catching up to do!

First, my youngest daughter loves peaches and lives almost exclusively on raw fruit and carrots. Seriously. And she went wild over this tea. She said it was, “The truest peach flavor I have ever had in a tea.”

I had steeped two bags in a pot and she was pretty desolate when we reached the bottom, so I resteeped. The resteep is my preference, the first steep is her preference, though we like both. On the resteep, the color is still strong but the peach flavor has faded and the Bai Mu Dan shines through. The website says that there is a hint of vanilla in this. I don’t really taste vanilla up front but I suspect it makes the peach have a fuller, mellow flavor. Good stuff.

I have had a tin of this sitting in my cupboard for a few years now, and I’m sure I must have gotten it and then completely forgotten about it’s existence up until last month. I steep it for about four minutes, no sugar, no milk. The tea itself is light, smooth and while i wouldn’t say it’s exactly peachy it’s pretty close. a good tea to start hot and drink even when it’s cold, it’s a nice one to throw into the mix if you want something a little different. I probably wouldn’t restock this very often but definitely wouldn’t complain if I found myself drinking it again.

I’m really glad that Ost sent me two tea bags of this, as I wanted to get another crack at this.
I’m still not sure that I’m quite sure how to brew up white tea, but I’m getting a bit more of the peach out of this cup, rather than my first cup.
I’m still not 100% sold on this. I don’t know that I’d buy it myself, but I’m really glad I got to try it, and would accept a cup if it was offered.
Thanks to Ost for this cup of springtime in the autumn. Sipdown!

I usually use pretty cool water (though some white teas like Lupicia recommend boiling water and I’ve had good results), and I start with a short steep, sample it with a ceramic spoon, and keep adding time until it tastes right. Finding that sweet spot between hot water and bitter & astringent can be tricky.

Whoa! I’m really impressed with this one! I was expecting it to be really light on flavor or taste fakey. But, the flavor is very present, sweet, and true. I get a little bit of creaminess from it, as well. I’ll be picking some of this up in my next Harney & Sons order, that’s for sure!

Thanks for letting me try it, Ost! This was one of those I was too afraid to purchase a whole tin of without knowing how it tasted. So, this was perfect!

Thanks Ost for the sample! :)

Well, this isn’t terrible, or anything, but it isn’t outstanding in any way. I imagine this would be a good one to brew strong, sweeten and pour over ice. The white tea is actually kind of greeny tasting, which doesn’t bother me, but I could see it being too astringent for some folks.

Got this one a month or so ago…whenever I was getting over my last cold. I tried it then and didn’t taste much but sourness. Finally giving it a decent chance.
I can taste the vanilla in this one now! XD Totally missed that last time.
But it’s a lovely peach tea.
Wouldn’t buy it again, the it’s still nice. the 50 bags I have will last long enough, I’m sure! Another good tea from H&S!

John Harney Appreciation Tea #8

Not sure why I neglected to review this White Peach before, but it’s very good. The white tea is smooth and serves as the perfect canvas for the natural peach flavor. I’ve had a few peach-flavored teas now, and this is one of my favorites.

I have an HT tin of the sachets, which smell very fragrant dry and brew up (appropriately enough) peach colored with a peach aroma! Definitely a must-try for peach lovers.

Lovely aroma, light peach taste. Be sure not to to add super hot water because the bitterness will kill the light flavor

So yummy. Luscious and sweet without being cloying, weird, or artificial. Heartily recommended!
