From Harney & Sons

The rich flavors of Thailand are the inspiration for this tasty blend. It is a combination of green tea, lemongrass, coconut and ginger.

I wanted to like this tea because I love green tea and coconut and lemongrass and ginger, etc. I guess I just don’t like them all together. The lemongrass is over-powering to me. I think there just might be too many flavors going on. Also, I’ve only ever had it hot so maybe it might be better iced. Either way, I won’t be purchasing it again.

This was my go-to tea when I was in high school over a decade ago, when I used to go to Barnes & Noble and read books and sip tea. The taste of it reminds me of burning my tongue on the inappropriately hot water but overall, this is a solid tea. The coconut flavor with the green tea is a winner with me. Doesn’t need any honey but the sweetness can bring the flavor out a bit. Try as a cold tea as well.

It’s finally hot enough outside for iced tea!! This was my choice to brew up while I bathe in sun. It was so refreshing with a lemon tang combined with smooth vanilla and coconut. The sencha added a light green base that lifted these flavors up. I placed a lemongrass and mint sprig stir stick in my glass and enjoyed this beautiful day.

Thanks, TeaNTeas! This was a nice green tea, but a little heavy on the lemongrass. A good tea to wake up with this morning!

Sample cube 16/18

I ended up enjoying this much more than the typical fruit/herbal-heavy tea blend, for a very simple reason: all of the ingredients promised by the description could actually be tasted in the brew, and got along well with each other. The coconut here is lovely, very soft and more reminiscent of coconut milk than the stronger flavor of dried coconut pieces, if that makes any sense. The ginger adds a warm, sugary spice that’s far enough in the background to not overwhelm, and the lemongrass brightens everything a bit. The green tea itself is very light and smooth. Overall it’s rather like coconut curry soup, but much lighter and quite refreshing as an iced tea.

Almost done with these samples. Then I’ll be back to a regimen of trying to finish things in my cupboard…

The lemon grass really elevates the tea: big lemon nose, and the lemon is strong in the taste, though the green tea comes through underneath, with subtle hints of something else, though I can’t really detect discrete coconut or ginger flavors. The overall effect is light and refreshing; I use it as a pallate-cleanser when I want to get away from the tannic black teas I tend to drink

This tea tastes like Thai food. This tea smells like Thai food. Not much else to say, but it is very tasty.

Well, I can see where this tea got its name. It smells exactly like coconut curry, which is a bit off-putting. The taste is almost totally dominated by lemongrass with maybe a hint of coconut at the end? Or maybe that’s just a placebo effect because I knew it was supposed to have coconut in it. My neighbor raved about this and gave me a sachet to try but my feelings are just meh about this. It tastes like Aveda smells.
UPDATE: 4 sips in and I hate it more with every sip. Definitely not finishing it.

I swear I have reviewed this tea, but Steepster is saying I haven’t. I don’t even know.
Anyway, I was writing this to add to my previous review – which I can’t find and might re-do, I guess.

I just wanted to add that this is delicious iced, sweetened, and with milk. The creaminess the milk adds goes really well with the coconut flavor. It reminds me of bubble tea, but without the tapioca pearls. Delicious!

However, I recommend drinking it this way out of an opaque cup. It looks… foul. It’s off-white, faintly yellowish, and cloudy. It looks like… something I’m not gonna name. ANYWAY.

Tabby: you may have reviewed Green Tea with Thai Flavors, which is the same blend, expect maybe not organic. I had the same “déjà bu” experience upon brewing up a sachet of this yummy tea! ;-)

I thought you were right, but there’s no review from me there, either! I might just be going crazy. But I know I’ve had and loved this tea before!
