From Fortnum & Mason

The latest arrival in our range of heritage teas, Half Crown Perfection Blend was created at the dawn of a new century and the Edwardian era. It celebrated a new monarch – Edward VII, who became king in 1901 – and offered a high-quality tea of exceptional value at this time of austerity. This blend is made from China Yunnan and Indian Darjeeling First Flush TGFOP1 and was retrieved from our archive to please a new generation of Fortnum’s customers.

Yunnan and Darjeeling blend. Nicely twisted, non-uniform dry leaves. Liquor is a deep, clear brown-hued amber colour with supple, full body and pleasant aftertaste that doesn’t leave quickly. Very light, flowery aroma from the Darjeeling. A little bit of malt. Very woodsy, light taste; mild but not weak. I preferred this on its own with no milk.
