French Blend

Given the description of this tea, I’m honestly surprised that I thought it wasn’t too bad. Lavender? Jasmine? Earl grey? Sounds like something perhaps Dinosara or Alphakitty would love, but not me! However, this blend was actually quite well-done, and the floralness was tamed to a level that I actually didn’t mind. The flavours I was picking up from the black tea blend were also quite pleasant. The biggest problem with this tea was that it was astringent after my 2.5 minute infusion. I didn’t grab any to give it another shot, but if I could tame the astringency, I could perhaps enjoy drinking this straight. I imagine, however, that it would be best (and quite tasty!) with milk and sugar.

A friend sent me this as it’s her favourite blend. While there are jasmine notes in here, they don’t overpower so I can get past them in the tea. I believe I’ve had another version of this in the Christmas tea swap and I think I’m feeling about the same on it. It’s not a bad blend, but there isn’t enough going on for me to really get behind this tea. It’s just kind of there.

J’adore le thé Mélange Français! (I’m not sure if that’s the correct way to say that, but my French is only slightly above non-existent) This tea is flowery and delicious and manages to not be too perfumey. It is robust enough to drink in the morning (yay Assam component!), but is perfect, in my opinion, as an early afternoon tea. Oh, and it is decidedly spectacular iced (especially with some lemon). I’ve been trying to find some sort of France-inspired blend that is good enough to continually keep in stock in my cupboard. By George, I think I’ve got it.

I got this tea from Culinary Teas, but it’s the same tea. It’s so refreshing. Love the floral sweetness it has. Very nice tea blend base. Love this iced, wonderful for a perk in the morning. It has a nice creaminess to it. I love Nilgiri iced, and with the flavoring, it’s perfection.

I was worried when I saw the lavender – I don’t always get along with that particular herb, though I love floral teas. I needn’t have worried – it was perfectly civilized in this blend! The flowers give the tea a natural sweetness. Lovely – very nice for an afternoon tea, not too light, but strong enough to take a drop of milk

This is one of my favorite teas. I’m not normally a big fan of floral teas or anything herbal, but something about the smell and taste of this one instantly relaxes me. It’s now my default tea when I have a long day at work and I need to unwind. Tastes fantastic, nice and robust and zesty, and the aromatherapy is a nice bonus.
