This tea is another winner from Streetshop88. All the tea I get from them seems to be good. This one despite being a 2003 tea did not have any of the unpleasant flavors sometimes associated with being somewhat aged. It was sweet and tasty with notes of what might be called dates or perhaps plums, its a matter of interpretation I guess. In any case it was good and I gave it fourteen steeps. It was not completely played out at fourteen steeps either. I’m sure I could have gotten twenty out of it but there is a limit to how much tea I can drink. There was only a hint of fermentation flavor to this tea, it was just a little bit earthy, perhaps ninety percent clear.
I steeped this fourteen times in a 120ml gaiwan with 10g leaf and boiling water. I steeped it for 5 sec, 5 sec, 7 sec, 10 sec, 15 sec, 20 sec, 25 sec, 30 sec, 45 sec, 1 min, 1 min 15 sec, 1 min 30 sec, 2 min and 2 min 30 sec. I think this tea could have gone as far as twenty steeps if given longer times.
