I see the potential with this tea. Power punch of honey and floral notes. It’s a little too sweet for me, so I may use less leaf to water in the future. I don’t think I’d like this one iced, but I’m willing to try it. Maybe that’ll decrease the sugary sweetness of the tea.

I would grab it if I weren’t feeling well. I’m sure when those Spring allergies knock me down, this’ll be a good tea to sip. I tend to lean toward honey + tea during that seasonal change.

Flavors: Floral, Herbal, Honey

I’m not sure if you’re into lattes at all, but it makes for a nice latte!

MadHatterTeaReview

Ahhhh. I’m totally going to try it as a latte then! :)

The honey flavor here is super strong. I thought I would dislike it, but actually, I sort of enjoyed it at first. It tastes really natural. I drank it cold, though I think a small mug of this would have been more pleasant than this huge one. The flavor was quite one note and became way too much by the end of the mug. Too much honey.

(DavidsTea 46)

Also picked up this tea… deeply discounted…… I can see why. Yikes. It smells like flavoured vodka. Floral-flavoured vodka. The flavour is better – less vodka, just floral, but wow, I do not like this. I think I preferred Headache Halo, and that’s saying something.

It is becoming less revolting as I drink it, but I am just going to have to hope that I can mix it into jugs of iced tea for my husband to use it up, because this is a nope for me. Glad I didn’t pay full price.

ETA: Ok seriously, even the sealed bag is poofing up vodka scent at me from the top. I’m not even sure I want to store this with my other teas! Gah.

Lexie Aleah

I found it to be much better with milk (I used soymilk)

Kittenna

Maybe I’ll give that a shot. I’m sad at how terrible this was!

tea-sipper

Yeah, the last davidstea order I did, it seems like the pouches are poofing scent out of them when they are closed, more than the older pouches did.

Kittenna

Yes! I opened up one order that smelled deliciously like caramel. I don’t think I should be able to smell through the bags!

January Sipdown Challenge
drink a latte prompt
Made a latte last night of this one and added vanilla soymilk. It was extra sweet between the milk and the strongly steeped tea. I remember I drank it pretty quickly. The latte prep softened the medicinal qualities such as the echinacea and enhanced the honey flavor/dessert elements.

I honestly didn’t think I would love this tea but I do. While the flavor is subtle it is strong enough for my picky taste buds. Smells almost like a nutty coffee, which I know doesn’t make sense but that’s what I got. Mild honey flavoring, satisfying and hydrating.

Hot: Yes
Cold: No, too weak a flavoring

TTB. Smells like honey flavoring, which I like. Tastes like licorice, stevia, and rooibos…which I don’t like.

I was inspired by TheMadHatterTeaReview’s Youtube review of this tea earlier today to steep up a cup myself since it had been a little while. Opening up the tin, I’m hit with the sweet aroma of fennel/black licorice. Definitely an aroma that I personally enjoy a lot, though I know that it’s polarizing.

Steeped up the taste is more of an overt honey note – clover honey in particular. Very sweet but I think that’s at least somewhat to be expected when you’re dealing with honey flavours – of course the fennel adds an extra layer of sweetness and those licorice-y flavours come through a bit more in the undertones after the initial wave of thicker clover honey notes. Also some woodiness and a gentle nutty finish from the rooibos itself.

I enjoyed this tea today and am glad I was inspired to steep it, though it was a touch sweeter than I remembered.

Friendly reminder that I do not numerically rate DAVIDsTEA blends as I’m currently employed there and it would be an obvious conflict of interest. Any blends you see with numerical ratings were rated prior to my employment there. These reviews are a reflection of my personal thoughts and feelings regarding the teas, and not the company’s.

MadHatterTeaReview

OMG-clover! How the heck did my mind forget clover! I totally need to revisit this now (as a latte).
