It is interesting to see that others have not enjoyed this one as I have. I absolutely LOVE this tea. It is in my top 5 for the teas released by David’s Tea for 2016. For me, it is not missing anything. It is amazing as a hot latte. You can taste the chocolate and almonds. It does have a sort of alcohol-like aroma when you smell it, but I do not taste it when brewed. I am definitely grabbing a ton of this before it is discontinued. I highly recommend it, if you like chocolate/dessert teas.

Michelle

It is quite yummy. It’s also a heavy tea too :(

Cold Brew!

I have a frankly insane amount of tasting note backlog to get through from this week, so tonight the name of the game is SHORT tasting notes – so in the spirit of that…

Classifying this brew and confusing and lovely. I didn’t add any milk or, for that matter, anything at all to this steep but the resulting infusion tasted almost exactly like chocolate milk. No reason for that, but super tasty nonetheless.

Friendly reminder that I do not numerically rate DAVIDsTEA blends as I’m currently employed there and it would be an obvious conflict of interest. Any blends you see with numerical ratings were rated prior to my employment there. These reviews are a reflection of my personal thoughts and feelings regarding the teas, and not the company’s.

I really like this tea. Of course it isn’t as good as a real chocolate covered almond, but it’s a close second and with a lot less calories!

*Update: This is pretty good as a latte too!

As is often the case with almond flavoured teas, I fell for the smell, but am a little disappointed with the taste. It isn’t that this is bad, I just really want a tea to bludgeon me over the head with ALMOND and I’ve yet to find that.

That being said, this is nice enough. Chocolate, with a non-descript nuttiness, kind of like DT’s Chocolate Macaroon without the coconut. Sweet enough that I didn’t bother with honey, which is rare for me! Though I probably won’t get more of it on account of preferring Chocolate Macaroon. Worth a try if you’ve got a sweet tooth!

I was SO excited to try this new winter tea, and today my order finally came in! Having a hot cup right now. When I smelled it it smelled really good – and it almost smells like the ‘Chocolate Cake’ tea also from Davids. Except with almonds of course. When I tasted, it tastes pretty close to Chocolate Cake as well. Not a problem for me. It’s creamy and light, with an almondy background. I can see why it’s called Chocolate Covered Almond. Overall it’s a pretty good tea.

I wish I could provide a more helpful review. I tried my sample last night but didn’t write anything in the moment because I was too distracted with other things. This was vaguely sweet and absolutely nothing stood out for me. If I could discern any specific flavour from this, it was a waxy chocolate note. Dollar Store mockolate? I’m going to go with that.

Tastes like alcohol and wax. Dumped the cup.

Fjellrev

Haha oh my, I was going to make this tonight but after reading this, I think I need to brace myself and hold off until tomorrow.

Tamarindel

Yeah, sorry to be discouraging but it was not pleasant. My mouth actually felt a little numb from the alcohol? So bizarre.

Evol Ving Ness

Ah, DTs flavour range is growing.
