Yikes!!! Couldn’t drink more than three sips. It’s the tea that smells best from the Fall 2015 collection but it tastes terrible.

I totally agree. I was given a sample in store and it was the first time that I could not get through an in-store sample. I guess you either love this one or you don’t….very little middle ground. But I felt the same as you. Yuck!

I was in DT tonight, to get a latte before heading home in some light drizzle. This was one of the tins on the counter that was needing to be put away. I smelled it, and was like, this has hibby in it, right? The SA said yes, but it is at the bottom of the list, so it is not too prominent. So, on impulse, I bought it, despite being a hibby hater.

It is a bit tart, which is to be expected when you see cranberry in the name. That said, it is far the most tart hibby laden tea I have had. I dare say this is acceptably tart, but not over tart. The orange and cranberry are the forward most notes I taste, followed by cinnamon and bread/oaty notes in the end.

It’s interesting. Like another reviewer said, the first few sips taste good, and then it becomes a little herbal. Things I could not taste in the initial sips, come out as my mug is nearing halfway empty. Is this bad? Well, yes and no. It doesn’t taste that bad, but the muffin-ness begins to disappear at this point. The tea gets slightly more tart the more I drink it.

So how do I like this blend? I don’t dislike it immensely, or hate it, as I do a lot of blends with hibiscus in them (there are only a few that I do like that have hibby). I like this enough to continue drinking this mug, instead of tossing it out. Having a tea with dandelion in it, that doesn’t taste too much like dirt, might have a place in my cupboard, since dandelion is really good for you. It does have the advantage of being good hot, and caffeine free. I have probably one more serving, so I will reserve judgement to see if I want more than my initial 10g bag. But…I don’t hate this one.

I love cranberry orange muffins from MacDonald’s so I might go and try this one.

Wow, this one got terrible ratings already. I initially ignored this one when it first came out, but smelled it yesterday and thought I’d grab a bit to try. The dry leaf smells so unique! It’s a melange of tart fruitiness with a pastry note in the background. I’m not sure if I would classify it as a muffin, but definitely something baked.

Trying this hot, it’s not that bad. It’s not as tart as I thought it would be. There’s definitely cranberry in there, with marmalade trailing behind. Then that pseudo-muffin note is in the far background, only noticeable if you know it’s supposed to be there in the first place.

I don’t think it’s dreadful like the majority of the reviewers on here but it’s not great either. To note, I actually had two cups and am not done my pouch, and both times were alright. I put about 5g of leaf into a regular-sized one-cup coffee mug each time, so I wouldn’t say I put more or less than the norm for a mug that size.

I actually thought this was pretty decent, too.

I actually got this tonight. Yeah, me, the hibby hater. It smelled really good, and the hibby was at the bottom of the ingredient list so I got 10g. And…it’s not bad!

Sipdown (112)!

Drinking this one hot was certainly an improvement on the cold brewed version. Not because the orange notes tasted any better, but because everything else did in a way which overcame the weird semi-sweet, bitter taste of nasty orange peel/zest. Notably, the cranberry top notes lingered longer which counterbalanced the orange, and the muffin aspect was more… muffiny.

I absolutely wont be buying more of this strange tisane, but I’m happy I got to finish it off on a slightly more positive note.

oh dear! That sounds horrible…

Update.

Yikes. Today, I passed by a David’s shop and stopped in for a sample. What do you know—-this was the ready-made tea that they were offering and it was delicious! DELICIOUS! So, I can only guess that my comment was based on a batch of heavily-dandilioned tea. I bought another 10 grams to brew and try again. Stay tuned.

It smelled promising. It looked promising. The name sounded hopeful.

I had picked up a few from the fall collection the other day. This was one of them. I only got 11 grams, thinking that would be enough to make a decision on whether I like it or not. I expected 11 grams to be enough for several cups of tea, but no. The cranberries are heavy. After this particular cup which was my first, I may barely be able to make one more, one more weak one.

Nevermind. I don’t think I need more of this.

It’s got a bit of a pastry flavour to it, but then there’s something else going on. Something bitter and not altogether pleasant. Is it the dandelion?

Whatever it is seems to get worse as the tea cools.

Regardless, I won’t miss it when it is gone.

I forgot to mention the cinnamon flavour as well.

I’m not a big fan of cranberries so this isn’t something I’d typically go out and buy, but as this is part of the fall collection and I do love trying seasonal drinks, I decided to give it a shot when it was offered as a sample choice with my most recent Davidstea order.

I share the apparently common observation that this is surprisingly tart: as expected of the ingredients, but perhaps not so typical of a muffin. But after I’ve gotten over that, this tisane doesn’t pack much of a punch. The primary note I notice, when tasting an especially when smelling is actually the dandelion root, which I personally dislike. The fruit notes are mostly lost other than the general tartness, although I occasionally get some of the orange peel. I only get the smallest hint of muffins, and even then it’s only when I’m looking for it.

Too much dandelion, not enough cranberry orange muffin. Not recommended.

I was in store the other day and picked up 50g of this to try.

I have mixed feelings about this tea. It isn’t bad, but something throws me off about it…I think it might the smell.

In some sips, I got the fruity notes of cranberry and orange. These were yummy sips! The two flavours were balanced pretty well; neither was overpowering, which was nice. I also got some nice cinnamon flavours in here.

Other sips, however, were quite bitter and not tasty at all. I’m not sure what caused this to happen. I have never had dandelion root in tea before, so I am wondering if that is the problem for me.

I wish this tea would be more consistent from sip to sip. I wanted to love this tea. I do not get any muffin flavour from this at all. While the orange/cranberry sips were enjoyable, I probably will not buy any more of this. I still have about 40g to finish, and that is more than enough for me.
