From DAVIDsTEA

As far as we’re concerned, a perfectly ripe nectarine is one of the world’s most perfect tastes. And something that special deserves the royal treatment – which is why we only used the best ingredients around for this all natural blend. We took a base of sweet, mellow white Bai Mudan tea, for a fresh taste of the spring harvest. Then we added fruity apricots, herbaceous blackberry leaves and all-natural nectarine essence. The result? A fresh, juicy tea worthy of our very favourite fruit.

Price per 50g: $11.50

This tea literally smells like a fresh, juicy nectarine! If you love them, you will definitely like this tea. It is amazing both iced and hot. Love the subtle-ness of the white tea paired with the juicy fruitiness of the apricots/nectarine. MAJORLY stocking up for summer!

Mmm! Lovely. I drank this as a hot tea and the aroma was bold and sweet but not overpowering. Tastes vaguely like a peach tea, but in my opinion it’s much better – more flavours going on. My fiancé is NOT a tea person and he even agreed it was yummy and had more than one sip. I was shocked!

I was excited for this tea to come out because nectarines are one of my most favorite fruits! This tea didn’t let me down in expectations of it. Probably only a once in a while tea. The tart of the nectarine flavour is saved by the sweet apricots in this tea.
It is yummy, but I won’t drink it every day.

Didn’t I just finish saying that I wanted to drink up as much tea as possible to have less to move? Then why did I just go and buy a little bit of each new spring tea? Yeesh. To be fair, I originally went out to redeem five black pots at Lush to get a free face mask, then get my protein and iron consumption on and grab a steak dinner special. Whilst waiting for my steak, I was browsing my email on my phone and came across the email. So there you have it. Waiting on steak ultimately leads to buying tea.

This, as well as Melon Drop, smelled the most intriguing to me in the store. Although I’m not a huge fan of nectarine, I love yellow peaches so I figured it may be worth a shot. Normally I don’t care for peach teas anyway because they wind up tasting like artificial juice crystals. And this has a little bit of that in the scent, but the fact that this has actual apricot in it ultimately sold me.

Now, in flavour, on the spectrum of genuine and artificial flavours, White Nectarine sits right smack in the middle. I can taste nuances of realistic dried nectarine and peach, but then there is a slight twinge of juice crystals, most likely due to the natural nectarine flavouring in this.

I like it but I don’t love it. It would probably make a tasty cold brew but since money doesn’t go on trees, there is no way I’m doing that with a white tea.

This is a very handy review! I love peach tea so I’m always looking for a good one – I just wish it came in one of those little skinny tins.

Maddy Barone

This one sounds intriguing. Might pick up some for summer.

Fjellrev

Oh yes, those skinny tins are cute! And this tea definitely reminds me of summer more than spring.

Lisa Elizabeth

Yeah, that was the problem for me with the Sunshine collection. I’d be sipping it, staring out at the mounds of snow!

Fjellrev

You’re so right about that! I thought it was a little odd that they were rolling out mugs with citrus groves and slices on them in the middle of winter.

So maybe, just maybe, did I forget I had a cold brew of this going. So maybe, just maybe, did it get a little incredibly over-steeped. Fortunately not bitter, but sickly sweet. If I watered it down it would probably be much better. As it is, this isn’t overly enjoyable. I know I’ve had better results with it in the past. Aftertaste is nice though—mellows out the sweetness and even becomes pleasantly sour later.

This will probably be good iced.
