From DAVIDsTEA

We’re pretty strict about certain holiday traditions. Especially the delicious ones. So it should come as no surprise that we insist on sipping eggnog at every festive occasion. All things considered, it’s almost crazy that it took us thing long to find the perfect eggnog tea. But trust us, this rich and creamy rooibos blend was definitely worth the wait. With white chocolate, mini meringues and a hint of nutmeg, it’s a brand new tradition we can’t believe we ever went without.

Price: $8.50 per 50g

I was not so sure about this tea at first. I tried the advent calendar sample and was hooked. I ended up purchasing 100g and now that we are in July and they still have some left, I ordered more. Keep it coming haha

Just like warm watered-down eggnog, which sounds gross but is surprisingly good.

Sample from VarieTEA. Thank you!

I was curious about this because I like creamy teas, but at the same time I wasn’t sure that an Eggnog flavored tea would work well on a green rooibos base. This also comes presweetened, which I don’t always appreciate. As it turns out, my concerns were well-founded. This is sweeter than I prefer, not all that cream, and tastes weird and artificial with the green rooibos base. I am not a fan.

Very mild flavor. Not unpleasant tasting, but not too exciting. I think I’d better get some more tisanes for spring.

This tastes exactly like eggnog. I mean, if it tasted any more like eggnog, then it would have be eggnog. It has a creamy taste that isn’t cloying or thick like actual eggnog, which is good, because I don’t enjoy eggnog, but it has a taste similar enough to milk that I don’t even see a reason for adding it. I did sweeten it with splenda, so I don’t know how it tastes unsweetened, but the splenda tastes natural in it. I wouldn’t drink it often, but i would definitely take this over real splenda if I were in a Christmas-y mood. I thought this was something else when I brewed it at first, so the spices threw me off, but then I realized that it was supposed to be eggnog flavor, and it made sense. This came in Skysamurai’s TTB.

Recieved this for Christmas. Eggnog is my guilty pleasure. I hated this so much at first, it smelled strange and made no sense. But I’m glad I gave it a second chance, because in latte form, this stuff rules and really does taste eggnoggy and creamy delicious.

Ok, I must be doing something wrong because this has zero flavour. Should I double the amount of tea or steeping time? I want to like this tea so bad but it just tastes like slightly flavoured water every time I make it. Help!

Amazing! David’s Tea nailed it! Sure it’s February, but with a wind chill advisory, I thought this would be an appropriate choice today. This really does capture the flavor of eggnog including subtle spice notes.

Nope. Nope, nope nope. This pretty much confirms my distaste for any and all things rooibos. Never again. No eggnog flavor at all, strange ingredients (meringue powder?), and that awful, awful sickly sweet tang that is rooibos. I know, I know, if I hate rooibos then why buy the tea, right? Well, it was a small amount, it was on sale, and eggnog – how could I not try it? Lesson learned – I need to stay away from rooibos! I may just try to pick out all those white chocolate chips, though…

I enjoy this tea more than I thought I would. I got a sample of it in my advent calendar, and I liked it so much that I just bought a 125g tin of it when I saw it on sale at my local store.

Once brewed this tea mainly tastes like green rooibos (which is one of my favourite teas), but a bit creamy and sweet. The spices are pretty subtle.

It’s good on its own, but even better with a bit of milk.
