From DAVIDsTEA

What’s our most popular tea request? Something that will help you relax or get more sleep. And thanks to a shot of uber-calming valerian root, this sweet and minty caffeine-free blend is pretty much guaranteed to knock you out. The best part? It tastes amazing, too. With soothing hints of apple, peppermint, lemon myrtle and apricot, it’s delicately fruity, lightly creamy and utterly refreshing. Just one cup is all it takes to…zzzzzzz……

Hum. I really don’t seem to like the taste :( … Although it does make me feel sleepy, I prefer mother’s little helper, which does the same thing but tastes better. I will have difficulty finishing what I have left.

This tea gets the job done. For that, 100%. I’ve been staying up far too late, so I am drinking this in hopes of getting to bed at a decent time and starting my body on that new rhythm. Valerian, yay!

I don’t love the flavour though. It is ok. Very green herbal.

I love the effects of sleepy time teas, but hate the flavor. This, however, is pleasant. Other sleepy time teas I’ve tried are overpowered by licorice. But this one is nice and balanced.

I am not a huge herbal tea lover, but the gal at David’s Tea recommended this one for me since I love peach and apricot flavors, and expressed a need to have more of a variety of tea to drink at night. I thought it was above average for most herbals I’ve tried, but it didn’t wow me. I did sleep well, though, so wondering if the valerian had anything to do with that?!

I have to say I must be weaker than everyone else because the valarean root in this tea hits me like a ton of bricks. I love this tea, love the mild light flavour and just love how it really does unwind me after a long day. However it also knocks me out hardcore. I am usually fast asleep or feeling very groggy about a half hour after drinking this. Maybe it’s all in my head hahaha but I won’t be drinking this at work as I am pretty sure it would leave me feeling exhausted. I did buy this as an anxiety/stress aid and it really does the trick to relax and de-stress. As far as anxiety goes I will have to cut the amount down to a teaspoon or less and test it out during busy high stress days at the office and see. All in all well worth the money an amazing tea.

Yay! A new medicinal herbal blend from DAVIDs tea with no artificial flavours or hibiscus!

I like this one a lot-I’ve recently discovered how much I like lemon herbal teas and that’s the first flavour in this tea, followed by hints of apple and peppermint. I’m personally not detecting vanilla right now but that’s alright. This tea is supposed to help someone go to sleep but it doesn’t have an y chamomile in it so I can’t see it effecting me too much in that way.

Either way, thank you, David’s, for creating a new herbal blend that I really like (it’s been really few and far in between lately between all the super-fruity, hibiscus, and artificial stuff you’ve been putting out).

This one’s not bad at all; the lemon myrtle, lemon balm, and vanilla gives this herbal a fluffy citrus dessert vibe. I just wish OMGsrsly hadn’t told me what she thought of Valerian root (stinky cheese, sock), because now I get that a little too! :P

Here’s hoping this helps fix my last few weeks of incredibly poor sleep.

I can’t believe I haven’t tried this tea sooner! I have had it in my cupboard for quite a while, but the large ingredients list was daunting and a bit worrisome, just so many interesting sounding things haha. But I had read a note on here a while ago that this tea was helpful with stress and anxiety, and with how work has been going since the start of the new year (read:BUSY like crazy), I could use something to calm me in my life. I have been having Mother’s Little Helper nightly this week, but decided to just try this tea and enjoy it!

Haha, so I was trying to recall if I have had a tea with lemon balm in it, and yes, as a matter of fact, one of the first teas I drank all the time was full of lemon balm: Cleanse by Tetley. I almost exclusively drank that tea for a year, the year I cut caffeine. It was a good year too! Lol, back in the day before I knew about loose leaf. Anyways, I was less daunted when I realized this tea has lemon balm in it.

The dry smell is vanilla-y and minty. It smells good. I did the first steep for about 5 mins with boiling water. The steeped liquor is light yellow, and smells mainly of vanilla, mint, and a hint of apricot fruitiness.

As for the flavor, this is a pretty decent herbal! This cup is quite minty, maybe I had an influx of it, but there is a creamy vanilla sweet note to keep it from being too minty, and some mild fruitiness. I might shake up the bag to see if I can get even more fruit next time. It definitely is calming, and while I’m not overly sleepy yet, I am a lot calmer, relaxed, and warm (although any tea would have helped with warming me lol).

Overall, this is a very nice herbal. It’s mild and minty, and I love mint! It reminds me a little bit of Cocomint cream with the apple and mint, but no coconut. I also enjoy that it’s a herbal without chamomile to clog up my steeper. The only thing that I would love to be in this blend as well is some nettle for allergies :D although the mint is helping to clear my sinuses already. I might have to restock this, especially if it does make me less anxious. Happy to have finally tried!

This tea does wonders for my rampant anxiety. I don’t know if it’s Halifax, my age, the season or what but I am more anxious than I have ever been in my entire life. Work has slowed down so now I can focus on my future – whatever will 2015 hold…

Enter The Big Chill. I would pick this one over Mother’s Little Helper any day, although the valerian root in both teas does make me feel drowsy, this one tastes so so much better imo.

I find the vanilla to be at the frontline (smooth and creamy), just a hint of mint and refreshing but soothing lemon ties it all together. I don’t drink it for the taste though, more the relaxing properties, it just happens to be tasty as well :3

Might need to try this…I’m super stressed out these days, and trying to battle it. No matter how much I tell myself not to worry about this or that, or that I have little or no control over certain things, I still stress and obsess and worry, etc. And I know it’s bad. i just can’t seem to break the automatic nature of it.

I know that feeling exactly Amariel! I’m also reading a book about mindfulness and taking time to breathe, it’s been very helpful as well. Don’t be afraid to try new things, you are worth it!
