From DAVIDsTEA

It’s no secret that some of our best ideas come from our customers. So when you guys asked David for a minty black tea, he knew he had to deliver. He took a rich base of black tea and cool peppermint, and added a creamy hint of coconut. To top it all off, he asked our customers to help him name it. We got tons of amazing name ideas, then everyone voted for their fave. We hope you all love the result as much as we do. Trust us – you and this tea are simply mint to be together.

Ingredients: organic black tea, peppermint, blue cornflower petals, coconut flakes. With natural flavouring.

Allergens: coconut

Price per 50g: $7.50

I have drunk so many new teas in the last few days but I haven’t had time to log them… Oh well, I’ll do it next time, when it’s my second try!

This one is my first try . The smell of the dry leaf was not as nice as I expected, but I like the smell of the brewed tea. Both this smell and the taste remind me of Santa’s Secret, which is one of my favorite, probably because the coconut makes it very creamy and the peppermint is quite strong with a nice black base. I like it a lot, but since I have a 100g tin of Santa’s Secret I won’t need to buy any more soon :)

The new tea pages demand that I update them. Anyway, this was good – not amazing, not out of this world, not new and daring, but good. It reminded me of the creamy mint taste of my long-discontinued favourite Opposites Attract. Solid mint black tea. Left my tongue a little tingly.

I’m excited to say that this was the 130th tea I’ve tried from David’s Tea! I’m also excited to say that it was a really enjoyable cup of tea! Like other reviews have mentioned, the peppermint is definitely more overpowering than the coconut. The coconut makes the blend more creamy than a simple peppermint blend (it really makes it taste like the centre of a peppermint patty). This was a smooth blend and was really easy to drink (even later in the day). The dry leaves smell almost entirely of peppermint- which would be expected after seeing the ratio of peppermint to black tea and coconut in the blend. The taste is really true to the smell so if you like the way it smells you would probably also enjoy the taste. I will have no problem finishing the 20g sample I bought yesterday and will pick up a bit more to have on hand once that’s done. Overall really enjoyable.

Forget it. Keeps deleting my note.
I prefer white chocolate frost and read my lips.
Totally frustrated by this ridiculously counter intuitive rating scheme that doesn’t work like it used to on my tablet.
Phooey!

Oh wow, this is actually pretty good. It’s almost like a better version of santa’s secret – which I didn’t like very much. It doesn’t smell too minty, but it tastes minty and creamy. I can’t really taste the coconut at all. I really like this. It’s just a minty, creamy black tea with an almost chocolatey taste as well.

A friend served me Mint To Be and I’ve been craving it ever since. Davids Tea no longer carries it and I’m so sad.

Okay so I think I got this for Christmas like.. a year ago? It’s just one of those sample tins, I actually don’t know when I got it. It’s just sort of always been sitting in my cupboard.. Anyways for some reason today i smelled it and it didn’t repulse me which is odd right cause it usually does (I’m not big on mint – which will be affecting my review. this is 100% biased)

Anyways! okay, so i brewed it in my cast iron teapot – like 3 tsp to a .. You know, I don’t know how big this teapot is, I think it’s almost a liter so lets go with that. I’ve got to say this tea is not very minty. Granted this may be like a year old so they could have changed the blend in fact they probably have at least a bit and my review may be completely worthless but..
Hey, I’m procrastinating so..

Alright I’ll start with some pros,
It’s nice and thick and full, which i quite appreciate, and quite smooth, and the minty taste is nice and subtle which is great for me, also there’s a really predominant vanilla flavour coming forward and it is quite sweet and a bit creamy, but then..
the cons;
..there’s this weird.. I dont know, grainy.. earthy.. wheaty.. you know what it is, it’s like how i’d imagine eating some sort of spearmint leaf would be if the leaf wasn’t minty. And yes I do realize how strange that description is, but yeah the cup is really dark actually quite floral and it really just feels like a tea that doesn’t know what it’s trying to be, there’s sorta no sense of direction here and I guess it’s just really strange.

I drank the whole teapot though so it wasn’t the worst.

I’m an idiot and posted the original note to another tea. Lets try that again:

Sipdown #3!

Very minty this morning. This is a generic mint tea, nice to drink mindlessly at work and I’ve enjoyed it but I’m happy to have used it up.

I enjoyed a cup this morning. My first at home cup in almost a month!
What a ride that was… now I’m coming down from the high of my vacay, I need to get back into “work” mode.
Today was all about decompressing after having company 24/7 for the last two weeks. Tomorrow, the real schtick gets rolling.
I was surprised that this tea worked so well today. It was absolute perfection without any additives, which I don’t get very often. I mean sure, I may not add something, but that doesn’t mean its perfect. So I relished this cup! Just the right mix of black tea and refreshing mint. Yes.
Anyhow. I feel whole again right now. Its good to be back.

TeaBrat
