From DAVIDsTEA

So what makes this mug so perfect? Well, aside from being the perfect size and shape, it comes with a fine, stainless steel infuser that fits right into it. Plus it has a lid, the ultimate tea-steeping accessory. Lids keep all the aroma and heat in the cup, for an even better tea experience. And when you’re done steeping, just use the lid as a little plate for the infuser – how perfect is that? Dishwasher safe. Microwave safe, except for metal infuser. (capacity: 12oz/380mL)

The only thing that I wish were different is that I wish the glass were a bit heavier. It just feel so delicate in the hand. The box says that it’s dishwasher and microwave safe, but I’m nervous because of the light weight of the glass. I’ll surely use only the top rack in the dishwasher, or just hand wash it.

I had one of these…it was great until I broke it! :(

Tamara

Awe, that sucks! I had a feeling that it’s delicate. How did you break it?

Stephanie

Oh, I don’t remember…it was months ago. At least I still have the nice metal steeper! :)

I ordered two of these (yay, two for $30 sale!) last week and was so excited when these arrived! My fiance told me that they hadn’t been delivered when I asked, but I came home to find a DAVIDsTEA box with a smiley face on it in our dining room. Silly prankster.

Anyway, I got one of the clear Perfect Mugs and one from the fall collection. The one from the fall collection is definitely my favorite -glass feels thick and sturdy. The clear Perfect Mug is made from very thin glass. It feels like a beaker you’d find in a Chemistry classroom. I’m really worried I’m going to smash it, and regret not buying two of the fall collection mugs because those seem to be sturdier.

So far though, that’s my only complaint. These mugs are genius! I love how easy the infuser baskets are to clean, and the micro holes mean my tea doesn’t escape while brewing! The mug is a good size, even if I had to add more loose leaf than I normally would to get the desired flavor. All in all, this is one gadget I look forward to getting more of.

This is hands down my favorite mug from DAVIDsTEA.

I purchased the Glass 12oz Perfect Tea Mug a little over a year ago and have been using it none stop since.

I LOVE that its glass. The huge tea nerd inside of me loves being able to watch the tea slowly steep and change in color. I also do a bunch of tea reviews on my blog, and the glass tea mug is usually my go-to mug for reviews. The large infuser basket makes steeping tea super easy and hassle free. There is lots of room for leaf expansion and the small holes are pretty fine that even the smallest leaves can hardly escape.

I also love the feel of the glass. Yes the glass in very thin, but there’s just something about the way it feels when holding it in your hand. Speaking of which, it also has a large handle, which is great as I can comfortably fit my whole hand through when holding the mug.

Back to the thin glass part. It should go without saying that yes you need to be careful when handing this mug. If you knock it over or accidentally drop it, it will most likely break. I hope I didn’t just jinx myself and end up accidentally breaking my own mug next time I go to use it.

I also love that it comes with a lid, or saucer, as some like to call it. It stays on top of your mug while steeping and also serves as a coaster to rest the infuser on afterwards.

I wrote a review on the glass perfect tea mug that you can check out at my blog: http://worldofteainfusers.com/perfect-tea-mug-davidstea-review/

This is a sturdy glass mug even though it feels quite light. However do bear in mind that designs put on it do not seem to stick even with hand washing. It’s best aspect though is it’s very roomy handle, perfect for those with fingers larger then standard handle size.

*my review is for the midnight green perfect mug, ceramic, not clear glass

I’ll admit that I’m only a few brews in with this mug, but so far it is pretty perfect. I got a dark green ceramic version of this at a Davids Tea store having a sale on teaware. Now that I have a job with an office and a desk, I am going to be using this baby to brew up my worktime tea.

It feels well made to me, though I tend to only hand wash things since I don’t have a dishwasher, so my lifestyle might be a bit gentler on the mug than others. The mesh basket is amazing, heavy duty, large enough for proper unfurling and brewing of leaves, but fine enough that absolutely no bits get through into the tea.

The cover is nice to keep the water warm while it brews and it fits snugly on top of everything. It is handy to have it as a coaster for the basket when the leaves are done brewing, but my one complaint is that a pretty decent puddle will form under the basket as it slowly drains whatever moisture was left after it was removed. The drippings are contained on the coaster-top, but you have to be careful with clean up or you’ll spill the puddle out of the coaster and all over your desk. I know there’s not really a good way to fix this beyond me being more patient when I drain my tea, but it should be noted.

Overall, I am excited with my new purchase, looks stylish but highly functional. I had my eye on this for a while and am feeling no regrets.
