Wow! I’m so impressed with this one. I went to DavidsTea today, for two refills and an empty canister and asked the girl behind the counter for a fruity recommendation. Couldn’t resist the beautiful aroma of the dry tea.
Steeped is even better. I had it hot out of the pot my first cup, with a little bit of honey. It’s was so delicious, and fruity. My second cup was cooled down a bit, more room temperature and no sweetener. I made a mistake sweetening it to be honest. There’s this quirky tangy note at the end that the honey took away, and it adds to the flavour quite a bit. My third cup was cold, no sweetener. I was really impressed. There wasn’t that “cold tea” taste at all. In fact, I think it would be sooooo refreshing on ice, maybe with a bit of vodka or white wine added in at the end of the day. ;) I will be keeping this one in my regular stock without a doubt.

It’s a no go hot. Too tart. I had hopes the hibby wouldn’t be too strong on this, but for me it is. I even used a bit more sugar than normal, but it is still too tart. I can taste the passionfruit in the distant background, saying “I’m here!” but getting hushed by the hibiscus. Maybe I’ll handle it better iced, when it’s hot out. I really want to like it, but this is the first tea I’ve not been able to finish n a long time. I probably could have finished it, as I dumped it at about 1/3 full, but I wanted something else, something I like, so I swapped it for Forever Nuts, instead, keeping with the pink theme.

Kittenna

Oooh. Bad news. I’ll be sure to get the minimum of this one…

Plunkybug

I had only wanted 10g, but somehow ended up with 20g, which disappoints me. if I had only gotten 10g, I might have kept it all. But I have since given to a friend.

this.is.a.brilliant.tea. the smell you get in the store is exactly how it tastes once it’s steeped. the blend is absolutely honest in its bouquet representation.

the colour is warmly pink. the taste genuinely passionfruit— not a citrus approximation. just enough flowers for it to be a tea and not just a fruit blend. adjectives: robust, elegant, balanced…

beautifully done, david’s teas! i can only hope that i can get this tea in the fall (please?).

Is there any tartness in this one? I’m considering picking this up, but I’m not sure about the hibiscus

JustJames

not a hint. it’s really well put together. but you can always ask for a sample in the store, they’re really good for that. :-)

good idea, I’ll have to bear this one in mind next time I go to David’s Tea

I love this one, but for some reason this was weak. I cold brewed it and I guess I underleafed it. Oh well, it’s still super tasty!

What’s a tisane, I asked myself this afternoon as I went to try out a new tea. I’m not sure if I’ve had one before. Dictionary.com describes a tisane as an “aromatic or herb-flavored tea.” So yes, I’ve had a tisane before! Why they don’t just call it a herbal tea, I’ll never know. Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

Anyway, this tea is SWEET! on it’s own. I can’t get over how sweet and almost tart it is. But the flavours of apple and passionfruit offer a lovely pairing that I’m really enjoying. I have enough for another cup or two thankfully, so I’ll enjoy this one a bit longer. I could actually see this making a really great iced tea, and I’m not a big one on the iced teas! So, how about that!

Anyway, the defense finds this tea: Delicious, but probably won’t get again. Although I’m enjoying this one, I don’t think I’d be the type to grab this one all that often. Glad to be able to enjoy it!

Fjellrev

Tisane basically = herbal tea. Or a “tea” not containing actual tea leaves from the Camellia sinensis plant. Some people just like being snobby and differentiating between the two haha.

And yeah, this one packs a punch!

TheKesser

Yeah I wasn’t expecting the punch I got from this one. haha

Brewed up a quick cup of this at my girlfriends house as a quick and easy caffeine free cup and wow I chose a good tea. I’ve had this one iced and hot and personally I like it as a hot tea right before bed :) it’s definitely can taste some of the flavourings but it is very subtle and doesn’t distract from the flavour of the tea.
All in all a great tea that I would buy to keep as a yea for bedtime :)

This is the new love of my life. I went through two iced tea packs of it, and part of a tin already, only making single serve ones. I’m trying to be careful so I don’t make myself super sick of it.. but its hard because its so freakin tasty! :) I really like the lightness of this.. it reminds me of pink flamingo but it doesn’t have the tartness (which I think is partially because of the eucalyptus in that blend).. this one, the passionfruit is the main flavour…. which is nice because its not often that a passionfruit is dominant amongst several ingredients. I have only tried this one iced and cold steeped… good both ways :)

Yum! Iced this today after reading that I wasn’t supposed to have caffeinated beverages before my LASIK procedure because I am supposed to be relaxed and calm blahblah. Anyway, this is super tasty! I added a teensy bit of rock sugar because I like my fruity iced teas a bit sweet. The hibiscus doesn’t really show up at all. I think it tastes like passion fruit (I don’t know if I’ve ever had it…). Juicy a bit tart/sour but sweet as well. Just super yummy.

I like this, though I have a few mixed feelings about it. I don’t tend to do iced teas as I prefer cold brews, but this one is actually quite nice as an iced tea. It has just a little of that hibiscus tartness, but it actually seems to work fairly well in this with the passionfruit flavour. It also reminds me a bit of grapefruit as well with the tartness. It has a sweet-tart taste that comes off as nicely refreshing when chilled. It does have a little bit of that fake chemical sweetness of added flavouring to it which I don’t like, but it is not as overpowering as it is in many flavoured teas. It verges on being almost too sickeningly artificially sweet to drink, but I find myself enjoying it on hot days when thirsty.
