From DAVIDsTEA

Put some spring in your step

This may have been a long, cold winter, but this exotic fruit-filled black tea is a sure sign of sunnier days ahead. Bursting with fruity pomegranate seeds and big, luscious pieces of mango, it’s like a cross between your favourite breakfast tea and the best juice ever. And since spring weather can still be a bit unpredictable, you’ll be happy to know it’s equally amazing hot or iced. One cup and you’ll feel like dancing for joy.

I’m so bad at spacing out tasting notes. I go days without posting any, and then I post more than one. It’s a terrible habit.

So this is my second cup of tea for the day. My first cup of tea was a really great cup of tea. This is a really great cup of warm juice. Dry, this tea is one of those teas with a lot of dried fruit and additives and not much tea. I only bought 2 ounces of this, so I didn’t have a tin, and I had to fish around the little pouch in order to get a mixture of both tea and dried fruit in my scoop. I see the dry tea in this. It’s a dark black leaf, and it is there. It expanded a bit in the tea bag I’m using to brew while my teapot is out of commission. I see it. But I don’t taste it. Not at all.

In fact, this cup of tea does not even resemble a cup of black tea. It brews to a light orange color. It really does look like juice.

With all of that said, I actually quite like this tea, which does surprise me. I don’t tend to like fruity teas, although I guess I do like tropical kinds of flavors. This is sweet. I do get mango notes, and I’d say that’s about all I get from it. However, it is satisfying in a — I want something sweet way.

I probably won’t drink it often, but it’s good, I guess.

Recently tried this one iced. It’s pretty good, quite fruity. David’s new spring collection seems to be on a good track for me. I’ll probably be buying some of this one soon.

Bad day at work. I want to go home and stay there and hide and only leave when it feels safe to.

This tea is largely unremarkable. Pleasant enough, if a bit nondescript. artificial mango taste, although not distinctly mango, if you ask me. Had it without additions because of general feelings of nausea. Not a bad blend, but am not inspired to acquire more.

That’s all.

Cheri

:( I hope the rest of your day gets better and your tummy calms down.

JustJames

JustJames the day was crap.
keychange

I understand crap days. And also value really unexpected laughs. But we’ll get through awful days, too.

I did not make my 400 note goal, but I have a ton of teas backlogged, so I am going to try and write some notes down and see how far that gets me.

I gave this a shot cold brewed, much improved from the over brewed astringent mess I managed to make the first time I tried it. I agree with the description, this really is reminiscent of a good glass of mango juice. However, I also get a nice grounding note from the black tea base. Personally, I rather like it, but I need to give it a couple more tries to see if it merits a long term space in my cupboard.

I preferred it cold to hot, but I am going to try brewing it hot properly and see if that works for me.

Rich Mango pieces, thick braided black tea. Lovely presentation.
Almost honey-like in it’s steeped aroma. Deep orange fluid.
Lacks that flavor bomb Paradise Found has but fruity, indeed.
As for taste it is lightly sweet, even made stronger seems lighter.
Very gentle tea.Fruity with slight sour fruitiness which is pleasant. I can see this being a nice iced tea but I would steep much longer and wouldn’t be shy with the amount of tea steeped.
i don’t know it seems a bit too sweet.too malty. either too strong or too weak.no matter how I’ve prepared it. The end of the cup is too sweet.
I think I’ll stick with other DT black fruity teas ; Paradise Found being what this could have been.
Basically started out good and then went downhill from there. But this might rock your boat but like I said much better fruity teas to be found. I think I prefer just sniffing the tin and not drinking it. Ouch.

I haven’t said anything but I’m officially on Davids tea Team Mason Jar!!!! I finally got it!!! Lol. Along side I bought the spring collection because it was just easier for me. Hopefully I will be able to purchase the tins I like. Anyways to christen my new jar, I decided to cold brew Pom Tango! I was kinda nervous so I just put two scoops and filled it half way. It was in the fridge for about 3 hrs. Nice and fruity, so excited for my summer drinks! Especially since Vegas is so hot. I wish it was sweeter but I suppose I could put sugar it in..lol. Pretty good! Btw I’m watching Frozen, good and cute movie though I have my critiques about it.

2015 version is not as good! I’m really disappointed. I thought it was just the sample at the store, but it just doesn’t taste as good as last time! It still smells amazing though, it just doesn’t taste like anything! I’m going to try steeping it longer.

They should rename this Mango Tango. Seriously. I can’t really taste any pomegranates and disappointed about that. But other then that…I like this. Going back and forth about whether I would get this for iced tea days…I guess it depends on how long it sticks around. I put a bunch of sugar in it, but can barely taste it, not a problem though I was in the mood for tart. I guess that could be the pom, hmm? Maybe. This tea is a bit…dry. I think I’m going to have a sweeter tea after this. Next cup I’m going to have will be iced.

Usually I wouldn’t be having a black tea this late but planning on working on my writing tonight and need as much energy as I can get. And want to counteract the alcohol in the Mike’s Hard Peachade that I bought last week and need to drink up before my Dad gets back from his vacation. (He’s a long time recovering alcoholic and doesn’t like having alcohol and he worries about me drinking…despite the fact that I’m not crazy about most alcohol and I’m such a lightweight…a few hard ades or wine coolers or Smirnoffs a year and I’m good. Pretty unusual for me to even buy a box…but figured, what the hell? lol. Unfortunately the stuff kind of sucks. Oh well.

I tried to purchase this last spring, but it seemed to be sold out every time I was at my David’s. But, I don’t get it because this doesn’t taste THAT great to me. It’s not like it is Pumpkin Chai or something delicious, but each to their own I guess.
To me, this tastes pretty artificial, and there isn’t much black tea in there. Which I guess is ok if I wanted a lower caffeine black.
Iced, it is marginally better.

I don’t know, maybe I am just falling out of love with DAVIDsTEA a little bit. The artificial flavours are sometimes a little too fake. Or maybe I just love mango too much and I was expecting so much more.

it makes me feel better knowing others don`t like this tea.. it smells wonderful, and i can`t have it because i am allergic to mangoes.. but so many of my friends have raved about it so i def felt like i was missing out!

tigress_al
