From DAVIDsTEA

DAVIDsTEA <3 NY.

There’s just something magical about New York City. We love the hustle and bustle, the excitement, and of course the food. Something about the words “big apple” just gets us salivating. Which is why we created this tea, a deliciously fruity blend of premium white and green teas with big pieces of golden apple. It’s fun, flashy and full of flavour – just like our favourite city.

Ingredients: White tea (Mao Feng), green tea (Wu Lu and Guangxi), apple, artificial flavouring*.

bought this tea on a whim. The sales associate told me to not follow the instructions as directed on the label (1 1/4 tsp 3-4 mins in 92 degrees Celsius water) She directed me to put in 1 tsp for 30 seconds in 74 degree water. When steeped properly (her advice) this tea is light and fruity and one of my favorites. However if you steep it too long or at the wrong temperature it is extremely bitter.

Oooo Another white tea that surprised me. This one smells like green apple jolly ranchers Hoooorah!

I would definitely buy this tea again, it is perfect as an afternoon brew and with its medium caffeine content, it won’t keep you up all night.

Edit: OH MY GOD, I just brewed another cup and this one smells SOOO good!! Im drooling waiting for this to cool down!

damn, slightly bitter. not sure what you can do to fix the bitterness, maybe steep less time?

I really didn’t know what to make of this tea at first. I knew the taste was familiar to me in some way, but I could not quite put my finger on it. It didn’t taste like apple, like I was expecting it to; I even asked my dad for his opinion and he was stumped.

Then I realized, it’s GREEN APPLE! So yes, basically, this tea tastes like green apple and that’s about it. I don’t know how to describe it any better. It’s not strong or weak, it’s the perfect strength actually (I could imagine that a flavor like this one could go wrong when it is strong).

Tastes like caramel-covered apples. It’s quite strong. I do recommend using not too hot water and steeping it for 2 minutes max.

It’s great iced as well.

Pretty sweet tea, not too much green tea, which is a plus for me.

Alas, still a little bitter, even though I was very careful with the temperature this time around. Better with sugar, but not a rebuy.

I really enjoy this tea. It is one of the first apple teas that I find actually has flavour and doesn’t just taste like cinnamon water. However, it is very easy to over-steep it and make it bitter.

I only like this tea iced. The apple flavour is quite nice. I usually find with apple teas the taste is quite fake. I have only gotten this one as a single serve tea, and likely won’t be adding it to my collection. I feel like its a nice summer treat.
