From DAVIDsTEA

Fasten your seatbelt

There’s something about a kiwi fruit that just makes us smile. It could be their cute round shape, or their fuzzy skin, or their bright green colour. But we think the best think about a kiwi is the taste – like a cross between a peach and a melon, only better. So it goes without saying that this kiwi-spiked green tea is a real treat. From the second the aroma hits you, you know you’re in for something special. Sweet, fruity, tart and lively, it’s an adventure you won’t soon forget.

I ended up finishing the last of this sample after all, along with Main Squeeze, this night/morning… My eternal clock is really messed up right now and it feels like 4pm despite being 6am.

I dumped nearly 6 grams in my 700ml (24 oz) teapot because, like the Main Squeeze, the first time I had this I found it to be on the weak side. It reminds me of Tetley’s Pomegranate Green Tea, as well- watery, fruity, and green. Kiwi apple flavour is very prevalent with a finishing taste of lemony green. Sweet, puckering tart, clean green with a A dash of prickliness.I do like that flow of flavours and that I can taste the tea in this one but I’m, unfortunately, not the biggest fan of kiwi. I’m also not huge on the watery broth that this tea has. I guess I’m craving something with more body. Despite all of that this is a unique tea that kiwi and fruity green tea lovers should try at least once.

I was so excited about this one, I love kiwis!
I like this one alot. Cold brewed, it is very refreshing.
Lots of kiwi flavour, then notes of green tea, apple and tiny bit of lemon. Tad bit tart, but mostly sweet.
Too bad there is artificial flavouring in here. But, still really like it.

Thanks, Kittenna! I’m glad I got a bit more of this from tigress_al because I love this! I cold steeped it overnight, and it is very kiwi with just a bit of citrusy undertones.

The green tea doesn’t really add much other than I guess some depth. It is VERY pale despite brewing 12 hours.

I’ll have to give it a try brewing double strength and pouring over ice instead.

I feel like I have had a revelation, I get this tea now. It really is not bad. It needs cooler water, a shorter steep, and not to be cold steeped! I am thoroughly enjoying my cup this morning and sorry I ever doubted Davids on this blend!

Fjellrev

You cracked the code! I haven’t tried this yet but if I ever do, I’ll have to remind myself not to cold steep it (since I’m a cold steep monster).

mewakeling

I am too!!! I love to cold steep, but sometimes I have been finding that the regular brew brings out a totally different flavour profile. I forgot to toss bananas foster in to cold steep, on my to do list for tm :)

A quick note (not that mine are ever very long) between doing some work and getting dressed to go see Thor (finally!).

This tea was sent to me in a swap with Aimee Popovacki. Since today has been a bit of a green tea day, I decided to finally brew some of this up. It is a pleasant enough cup for sure. Nothing especially good but nothing particularly offensive either. It is light and fruity with a dash of kiwi. No green tea to be detected anywhere. All in all, this is a pleasant cup but I doubt I will really miss it when the sample I have is gone.

Thank you for sharing this with me Aimee!!

have you seen Prometheus?

did you like it?

Daisy Chubb

It wasn’t my fave, I found it slow – but visually gorgeous.

Shmiracles

well i freakin loved Prometheus! i mean, i know i know iknowwww you can tell me about all the plot issues and character problems and how blabbity blab made no sense and i will agree with you. and i will still love it! my beau says it’s a B-movie with a big budget. and that it’s kinda okay cuz it’s in the vein of the original in that regard. he did not like it the way i do. i just sent 10 articles about the movie to my kindle for weekend reading.

Daisy Chubb

I like that – a B movie with a big budget. I don’t find that offensive to the movie at all – it’s actually quite an awesome way to think of it. B movies have always been my fave – I think I will watch it again with that in mind! :)

So sad. I am a huge fan of Peewee’s Big Adventure, and I so desperately wanted to love this tea, but for me it was nothing but a Big…disappointment. I cold brewed this, I had it hot, I did everything I could to it, but it didn’t wow me. Cold brewed, this just tastes weak and bland…and since I used about twice the leaf I usually use for cold brewing, that just sucks. It’s alright enough, but it’s not one I feel the need to have more of. Oh well.

nomadinjeopardy

Oh, yeah. I forgot I’d tried this one last week because I was that underwhelmed by it! So disappointing because a kiwi tea should be amazing.

Daddyselephant

It smells so good! So good! So saaaaaaaad

Buy the Stars

I tried some iced in-store today with only a little agave; I’m a huge huge kiwi fan and was SUPER excited, but it was such a disappointment. :(

The name of this tea is so fun!

This one smells great dry and steeped – more the apple and lemon than the kiwi. I’m not finding the taste as potent as the smell. I’ll have to try steeping it longer next time to see if I can get more of a flavour. I’d also like to try it as an iced tea since these fruity ones seem to scream summer :) It’s certainly unique if nothing else!

I’ll give this one a rating once I’ve tried some variations.

Update: I’ve tried this one hot and it didn’t wow me. I’ve been cold brewing it since yesterday morning before work (oops I meant to try it last night haha).

I can’t decide if I’m enjoying it more or not. It’s a fascinating taste thought I’m not quite sure it’s a kiwi taste. I probably left it too long with the leaves.

I really, really enjoy this tea. I had a baggie of it left over from last spring and made an iced one.. it was delicious :) .. I think went to refill my tin that I had with some coconut oolong but they were out.. so I decided to fill my tin with this. I think my little baggie was not the freshest because the tin was EVEN better! :) I love this one iced… I don’t remember how I felt about it in the spring last year.. but this year, I definitely love it :)

Aimee Popovacki

obviously, i’m doing a bit of sipdown to make way for the summmmmmer colllectionnnnnnn next week! :)

So i got this in a swap and its nice i am not a fan of Kiwi’s per say but this tea is very nice and its keeping me warm at the moment at work.. I can tast the tartness in this but the flavor is good… Its almost like a normal tea with not much flavor. Not sure ide stock up but if i was offered it i would drink it.

KeenTeaThyme

Try this iced – that’s how I love it, with a little bit of Equal (or Splenda) to combat the tartness.
