From DAVIDsTEA

From far and wide
We’ve got a lot to be proud of up here in Canada. Majestic mountains, lush forests, open plains, nice people, and of course our beautiful aurora borealis. All in all, a pretty remarkable mélange. This herbal blend celebrates our delicious abundance. It’s made with herbs and fruits that are easily found in our great country during the summer months: apple, peppermint, juniper berries, and raspberry leaf. Great hot or iced, it’s a sweet, refreshing cup of national pride.

I was very apprehensive about this tea when I first cut the bag open. It smelled horrid to me – which I was later informed is because gin smells that way and I don’t like gin – and I left this sit for a few days before I relented. It surprised me in how much I enjoyed it.

I was worried it would have an overpowering taste but it was very muted and pleasant. It did not need any enhancers added to it which was a plus to me as well. But, alas, it did not wow me. I will keep the bag and enjoy it at my leisure but no tin buy for this one.

Odd, yes! But absolutely lovely for sure. I could see myself drink this all the time.
All the flavors compliment each other very well, believe me.

First of all, I live in Canada. I appreciate the nationalist pride here as well as the locals’ capacity of making everything with Canadian products. But this is taking things too far. Without an ounce of sugar and/or sweetener, this infusion is nothing but hot mouthwash. The peppermint is slightly overpowering, making the berry and apple into a sour mush. Yucky.

SO GOOD!! I haven’t tried it iced, only hot, and it blows my mind every time. Minty, fruity, a little bitter… I love it. It destroys headaches and bad feelings with a single sip. :)

Tried a sample in-store, so that’s not really enough to go on. The flavour is similar to chewing minty gum then taking a swig of fruity drink, an interesting blend of flavours, but probably not something I would purchase myself…
