From DAVIDsTEA

It’s the season
What’s the best fruit of summer? Hmmm, could it be the papaya? It’s just so luscious and tropical and undeniably delicious. Especially with a citrusy splash of lime and a smooth base of wild honeybush – a mineral-rich herbal tea that tastes a bit like rooibos, only sweeter. Ice it and you’ll find that soaring temperatures, burning sun and crazy humidity are really very pleasant. Caffeine-free

So this is the last of my samples from Davidstea. I could taste more of the lime and other citrus flavors over the papaya. I thought it should have been a tad bit sweet. I had it hot, since I’m really not a ice tea person.

I didn’t try this hot but when iced and sweetened, it tastes very similar to the iced tea you get in a bottle. It’s a lighter version, yet is heavier than the other summer collection teas. I like it.

We picked up some of this yesterday and…well. I’m glad we only picked up 10 g of it. I don’t like it. The lime is in the aftertaste and in a cloying, too-tart kind of way. Maybe I just don’t like papaya, I’ve never had it straight up to know, but I do know I am not enjoying this cup of tea at all.

Edit: I don’t think I can handle another cup of this tea. Based on my GLOWING recommendation, does anyone on my flist want to try this? I’ll happily send it along.
