From DAVIDsTEA

Dark and nouveau-chic

It’s time to go retro and return this flavour to its rightful place as the Queen of Liqueurs. Are you ready to succumb to its charms? Our version is a rich, dark blend of organic pu’erh tea and peppermint, sweetened with all the creaminess of organic Madagascar vanilla, licorice and cinnamon. It’s as delicious as the original, only you can drink it everyday, all day. Now, that’s decadent.

Ingredients: Organic: Pu-erh (cooked, Shou type), cinnamon, peppermint, licorice root, vanilla bean.

I don’t drink pu-erh normally, but this tea might change that. The minty refreshing taste of this beautiful tea is enough to convert me from my greens and whites. Really is a delicious brew and I’d recommend it.

I had version of this tea from a local tea store a while back and fell in love with the flavor. When I discovered this on Davids Tea I knew I had to buy some. It’s exactly how I remember it. I know some people don’t like some pu erh’s because they have a earthy taste, but the addition of mint and vanilla really help balance out the flavor. If you are used to black teas you really need to give this one a shot. All of that horrible astringency normally present in black teas is nowhere to be found in this pu erh. Nothing but a smooooooooooth cup of delicious tea.

I first tried this tea as a take-home cup in-store, and I soon realized I should have purchased the tea! I love it. I don’t know what it is about it that I love, but it is simply perfect. Creamy, minty, flavorful, and smooth, and with a glorious punch of energy! I went home and ordered a tin online. :) Yum yum yum!
