From DarjeelingTeaXpress

Origin: Darjeeling
Tea Estate: Castleton DJ374
Colour: Black
Grade: F.T.G.F.O.P.1 China Special
Flush: Autumn
Type: Single Estate
Weight: 100 grams
Length of infusion: 3 mins 30 seconds
Water temperature: 90°C

Dry leaves
Aspect: Small rolled leaves with few downy silver buds
Colours: Dark brown, black with few pieces of pale green leaves
Scents: Notes of stewed and fresh fruit accompanied by floral notes, with an underlying sweet aroma

Brewed leaves (Infusion)
Colours: Dark green, coppery, brown
Scents: Plant, herb and floral (orange blossom) notes to start with a sweet underlying note of butter

Liquor
Colour: Coppery and glossy amber liquor
Texture: A very delicate astringency that fills the mouth and sustains the aromas
Flavour: Slightly sweet
Aromas: An attack of citrus (orange), very harmonious and some herbal notes (camphor)
Aromatic profile and length in the mouth: Very elegant with the different fruits. Lingering floral, fresh planty notes with a touch of camphor/almond. Smooth with slightly astringency accent.

Our verdict: Although this comes from China Classic plants, which usually produces teas with almondy qualities, this lot from Castleton garden has an impressive floral bouquet, which is wonderfully varied subtle.

The aroma is a nice delicate fresh blend of subtle floral and plant with light fruits, quite interesting.

The flavors are very mild and slightly sweet. It is nice, but it doesn’t go beyond for exceptional, staying low key and subtle.

I would think it a great late afternoon Darjeeling, not too strong and not too mild, just before a green tea to close out the workday.
