From Dammann Frères

The delicious fruitiness of bergamot is blended with the naturally sweet, woody, almost honeyed notes of South African rooibos. Yet another way to savour a classic until quite late in the day.

Sipdown! (12 | 85)

Another one from Courtney!

So I tried steeping it a bit less for this second pot, because the first time I didn’t find much bergamot here. But the shorter steep doesn’t seem to have helped much.

The rooibos here is nice, it has a biscuity sort of quality and doesn’t taste medicinal at all. And there’s just a little hint of bergamot, but I would like a lot more.

So pleasant enough to drink, but not something I would order for myself.

You know, this tea has really grown on me. I think it’s the mix of the rooibos base with the Earl Grey. I think I prefer Earl Grey in a rooibos base! What! I don’t care for rooibos and I don’t care for Earl Grey (well, bergamot) – so why do I enjoy them together? Fascinating!

I guess in this case, two wrongs do make a right.

I’m not sure I’ve ever had a rooibos Earl Grey, but I’m a bergamot fan so I’ll have to try it sometime. :)

Courtney

You should! It’s actually quite mellow, while other EGs I’ve had have been more “harsh” (for lack of a better word). Perhaps one for the inevitable swap haha!
