So i’d forgotten that I’d had this one before courtesy of Terri. What’s more fun still, is that this is a MUCH tastier cup this time around. Apparently the last time i tried it via terri, i got all the coconute flavouring in the tea she sent. This time, it’s a much more balanced cup with both the vanilla and coconut coming through. Bumping the rating up, since it’s in this tin, it’s quite nice. It makes me curious though as to how consistent Adagio is with their creations. it’s possible it was the sample terri sent me, but sinceit’s not coconut bits, it’s the flavouring, how consistent are the varying incarnations of their blends? :) Anyway, i like this one much more this time around!

Leif & I had breakfast together, & this was his selection for our shared pot of tea. Lightly sweetened with stevia, this is a tasty blend of coconut, assam, apples, & vanilla. Leif added enough tea to reach a nice level of boldness, & the other flavors were enhanced by the stevia. It was a nice start.

On the Eleventh day of Christmas Steepster gave to me eleven Pipers piping…

Yeah, I know. I’m drinking this way after the 11th day of Christmas but I just didn’t want to steep this up on a day where it didn’t feel right. That sort of seemed like a waste of an interesting blend and Isaila’s creativity. So I’m having it now.

1 1/2 tsp. of leaf, just under boiling water steeped 3 min.

Taste wise, I actually really like this. It reminds me a lot of another tea I’ve had, but I’m having a hard time placing what. I’m sure it’ll come to me though. Anyway, I get a nice, smooth black base and tons of creamy vanilla/coconut. That’s topped off with a very subtle and sweet apple – not tart apple, sweet apple. It almost tastes caramelized?

Ah, that’s it! It’s like a black cross of DT’s Gold Rush and RiverTea’s Mulberry White! Smooth caramel/coconut from Gold Rush and hints of caramel/apple from Mulberry White!

Anyway, I like it.

Moving this to the right place; I failed to find this last night after repeated attempts. Thanks to Roswell Strange for sharing the proper place!

Oh Steepster, are you having hiccups again? Boo. Thus my reasoning behind why I’m struggling to say who exactly sent this tea via the 12 Days of Christmas swap – however someone did. Even drew The Doctor with a bowtie on the baggie! So awesome.

The person who shared this also shared that this tea gets bitter quick, and boy were they right. I steeped at a lower temperature and for less time, and yet I still get astringency right off the bat. As per usual, some sweetener helps to tone it down a bit, however my mouth is still dry and puckering. I get a touch of caramel in there, definitely the cream from the coconut, and little else other than – dry base. :(

FINALLY I’m pretty sure I’ve been trying to post this for ten hours. I had this on Thursday but I haven’t been on here for whatever reason I don’t even know.

I do have an entire pouch of this but this is from the 11th day of the 12 teas of Christmas – I am almost done with that yeah! Just have to write the note for the 12th day. And sorry 10th day. I messed up that tea badly it’s not even noteworthy because I did it no justice.

So this is an interesting combination and I definitely liked it, good to know when I finally break open the bag of mine that I will like it. The assam isn’t too powerful because you can still get the fruit and a little vanilla.

I’m not sure how I steeped it because it turned out just fine. I didn’t get to drink it right away because I had a smoke detector beeping fun time. Apparently cooking things at 450 degrees is a problem. Blah. Usually I struggle with keeping Adagio stuff from going bitter so that was good. I know I rarely take my kettle off the 200 degree setting so I know that much!

Yum! Thanks to Valerie for the sample!

I just realised that I like Assam teas, and while I don’t know what “Assam Melody” is in comparison, that doesn’t change that I like the base of this tea. The coconut makes it a bit creamy, while the apple and vanilla give it a bit of sweetness. It rolls around nicely in my mouth with each sip giving you a bit of a different flavour – - – I suppose that makes each sip as unpredictable as the Doctor. :O

The vanilla makes me think of Earl Grey too, which isn’t a bad thing.

I’m glad I got to try it, but I wouldn’t have bought it. Adagio teas are a bit too pricey, and I’d only be doing it for the pretty tin. (And $24 for a pretty tin is… sadly not worth it). On a sidenote, these are 6oz tins, so they must be a lot bigger than the ones from DavidsTea!

Oh – I noticed that 5 new people started following me in the last 24 hours. I don’t know what I’m doing, but HI! :D #NoPressureToBeEntertainingYIKES

yeah adagio teas are pricey. what i think is super cute though (and smart of the owners to cater to fandom in this way) is that if you purchase both blends in a “ship” you get a dollar off both bags. eleven was paired with river :DDDDDD

Okay so this is one of those teas where you can’t really get more than one steep out of it? It’s been steeping for about 7 minutes now and it’s only a very very very light amber colour. Welp. On the other hand, that means I might make it though the tin a bit quicker.

Btw, drinking this in my new Weeping Angel mug which my BFF Sam gave me for Christmas tonight!

I had the rest of the small sample that I took off of the TTB from NayLynn today. I keep coming back to this tea. I am tempted to order a 3oz pouch. Maybe if someone reads this and they are interested in trading out half of a pouch it would put me over the top. This is a nice vanilla, coconut and fruity blend. Definitely a tea I need to be in a bit of a mood for but one I keep finding very enjoyable.

I have trouble detecting any apple, but the coconut is definitely there. It’s a coconuty black tea, as the description suggests. The name is a bonus for those of us who are Whovians.

BECAUSE I like Doctor Who, I wanted to like this tea more. But alas, it wasn’t meant to be. It’s just a little too weak and gets bitter a bit easily. I’m still happy to try it for fangirlish reasons, though.
