From Crafted Leaf Tea

Lishan Oolong is produced in Lishan, one of the three major tea regions for high mountain oolong tea in Taiwan. This tea is grown in the Lishan tea area at an altitude of 1,800 to 2,500 meters with sandy and well drained soil.

Li Shan oolong tea is known as the “King of Teas.” It has a fruity fragrance that is not found in other Taiwan teas. Its high price is due to its superior quality and also the fact that it is produced in limited quantities with just two harvests per year.

Coupled with the rainy climate in the mountains of Taiwan, it is very beneficial for tea growth. The tea is picked after the rainy season when the water content of the tea is relatively low, making Lishan Oolong packed with high aroma and a refreshing taste.

Lishan Oolong has is a yellow and clear body, and exudes the unique honey fruit aroma of Lishan tea area. It retains its fragrance well after several brew and has a good bittersweetness in its aftertaste.

I ordered the Shanlinxi originally, so this was a mistake and a happy accident. It’s actually more fruity than the Dayuling, which I did not expect. That one has a richer floral smell, but this one has more flavor gong fu AND western. I’m looking forward to enjoying this one while I finish the Dayuling off.
