1984 Aged Chinese Tea Factory CNNP Shu Puer Tea Brick 470g Ripe Puerh Tea

This tea tastes like an aged tea. It has an aged flavor that I have found in older teas like the 1998 White Tuo. I don’t necessarily mean to compare it to that tea but its aged flavor has similar characteristics. Very much a taste of what I think is best described as wet wood or bamboo. As this is an old tea I gave it two rinses and a short rest, probably not long enough a rest. The first few infusions had a strong taste of this aged flavor. By about the fourth infusion it began to mellow. There was another not present that I am not sure how to describe, perhaps camphor would be a good description though. Overall I enjoyed this tea. I brewed it in my smallest brewing vessel, my small Kamjove. They call it a 200ml Kamjove but the brewing basket is more like 80ml or 90ml, I don’t have anything to measure it exactly. It was pretty much played out at ten steeps, I don’t think this is the sort of tea you can brew twenty times. It is an aged tea, but after all a cheap aged tea. I got it from Royal Tea Bay on EBay and I am not sorry fro trying it.

I brewed this ten times in a 200ml/80ml Kamjove with 4.3g leaf and boiling water. I brewed it for 5 sec, 5 sec, 5 sec, 7 sec, 10 sec, 15 sec, 20 sec, 25 sec, 30 sec, and 45 sec.
