From Charleston Tea Plantation

Over 100 years ago, tea planters brought their finest ancestral tea bushes from China and India to Wadmalaw Island near the historic old city of Charleston, South Carolina. Now the direct descendants of these very plants have been lovingly restored to their former grandeur here at the Charleston Tea Gardens®, a lush subtropical tea farm. It is in this context of great natural beauty and colonial pride that we bring you Plantation Peach® Tea made from 100% grown at America’s only tea garden. We have crafted a very special taste for our tea by blending the invigorating taste of southern peaches with Charleston Tea Plantation’s finest tea leaves. Plantation Peach Tea is becoming a favorite tea by all who taste it.

I just steeped this as my cuppa before bed. My friend went to the tea plantation this summer and brought me back some samples.

It smells nice and peachy. This is my first peach tea so I’m not sure if I’ll like it. It is just hot and plain right now. Something tells me that I should have let this steep for much longer than I did. It doesn’t taste like much but I’m not sure if it is just because I have a bigger mug or not.

It isn’t bad but I was expecting a stronger flavor. A few more sips later and I have decided that the tea is very light and almost buttery. It leaves my throat a little try but it isn’t unpleasant. Maybe if I had more fruit teas, I would like this more.

Plantation peach tea
Smelled like peach. Taste lingers. Not much of a big fan of peach. But if you don’t mind peaches the tea is quite peachy.

I didn’t like this one either, the tea flavor didn’t last in your mouth but the artificial peach flavor did.

This was a pretty basic bagged black peach tea. The base was nondescript. The peach flavor was slightly artificial, but not unpleasantly so. It’s not something I would purchase, but I would drink it again if it was offered to me.

I like light-flavored teas and this is my favorite peach tea of all time. I like the delicacy and subtlety of the peach flavor. The peach doesn’t overwhelm the tea and vice versa. I also love the fact that I am supporting a US product.

I haven’t had many fruit teas, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. The first thing I noticed was the sweet peach aroma.

When I actually tasted the tea it was more like black tea with a hint of peach. Overall, I enjoyed it for not being overwhelming, but a little more peach flavoring wouldn’t hurt.
