From Celestial Seasonings

Harvested in early springtime in the mountains of eastern China, the leaves of this Bai Mu Dan white tea are gently air-dried to retain their subtle sweetness and delicate, just-picked flavor. White tea’s natural sweetness is enhanced with the flavor of juicy pears and a touch of vanilla.

This one is another that has next to no flavor for me, and makes me very sad.

Rena Sherwood

Don’t be sad. You could always throw the wet teabags at people you don’t like. Makes a nice SPLAT noise.

I’ve tried brewing this tea at various temperatures, and I never taste any pear notes; the only thing I’ve ever gotten is vanilla, and that note is fairly weak. Disappointingly woody tea.

I was intrigued to discover this tea since ive never come across a pear tea before; had to buy it.
No regrets! Its delicious and delicate and has no overpowering “fake” taste to it (like vanilla or fake fruityness).

perfumey scent but no pear flavor when brewed. Blah. I couldn’t give mine away!

Grinnyguy

You’re not alone. Looks like this tea has the lowest rating of any tea that has been rated more than once. It must be awful!

This was an impulse purchase for me. I do like the flavor of pear. I see that other reviews call the tea “bitter.” That was not my experience: my experience was hot water tinged with so little flavor as to be meaningless.
I know that some tea bags can really work so I don’t shun them entirely but I am going to be seeking a stronger pear blend elsewhere.

Usually love Celestial Seasonings but this one is a miss. “Tea” is somehow bitter yet flavorless, combined with a phony pear taste.

I drank this tea until I could no longer find it. I’m very sad, as this was the best tea I’d ever drank. I miss it terribly. One really great reason I loved this tea, as it did have caffeine and it never stained my teeth like breakfast tea does, or any black tea.

I’ve been drinking loose leaf teas over the last year, but I still find myself going back to this tea.

I love it!

I enjoy the simple flavors & with a little fresh honey, this makes for a great cuppa tea. I always keep this on hand. Love it hot, but also appreciate it iced from time to time.

The pear taste is more Nashi that Bosch, and the vanilla-sweetness does overpower it more than it should… but I do love this tea. It’s light and floaty and a VERY pale yellow, but sometimes I want that.

(I tend to brew mine with half room temperature water and half water-that-was-boiling-a-minute-ago. It works for me, especially when I keep an eagle eye on the clock.

This tea is very bitter. I tried steeping for less time ( I like to steep for 5 minutes or more normally) and this did not help the flavor. Also, very little pear flavor to be had.
