From Camellia Sinensis

The famous Xiaguan factory has produced this loose Shou Pu Er for more than ten years. Aged since that time in Hong Kong, it has matured and ripened. Its small leaves, somewhat less fermented than modern versions of Shou Pu Er, delicately emit scents of camphor and liquorice. Its comforting liquor is soft and silky as well as tasty and potent. Combining with its aromas of humus, cocoa and softwood are notes of mineral (clay) and slightly sweet (cereal and raw potato) with a nice persistence and complexity. A good choice for beginners to the vast world of Pu Er.

Aged teas are something special. certainly not for everyone. I love them. You can taste all the years they’ve lived through. Each sip like a journey back in the history books. so smooth but rich. the liquor is a crimson chocolate and the sent of morning fir trees. not quite piney but in the conifer family. I shall savor this goodness til the next time I can get to montreal
