Organic teas make me smile :)

The Kundaly has a rather sweet and nutty scent in it’s raw form. It’s colours are dark brown and red brown and the leaves are finely chopped.

Brewing Method – 1tsp Fresh boiling water 4 minute steep time

Once steeped the tea is dark golden brown in colour with a sweet earth and wood scent.

The tea is rather delicate and smooth with notable flavours of sweet wood, soft musk, dry nuts, mild raisins and malt. A very relaxing black tea that has flavour without a lot of strength (so milk is not required) and would make a wonderful evening tea.

It’s a very nice medium strength Organic Kundaly that has left me sipping the rest of my cup with a smile.

PS. This is only rated in the 80’s because I personally prefer a much stronger black tea.

Backlogging – I enjoyed this yesterday as well as this morning. Steepster has not made it easy these last few days. Frustrating, yes, but I love this site so much that I cannot give up on it!

This tea is AWESOME! Perhaps the nicest Nilgiri tea I’ve ever had. It is a bit lighter than most Nilgiri teas – it is still assertive but not quite as bold or as malty as other Nilgiri teas, but what it lacks in those areas it more than makes up for in a sweet, delicious toasted walnut flavor. Wow! It’s really quite amazing.

Wow quite a recommendation!

I love Butiki Teas. And Stacy is fantastic… very fast response time to questions, and of course, fast shipping and … their teas are great too.

Bonnie

I agree 100%

Had this tea at lunch time. This is quite good for today because I was in the mood for a straight black, but nothing too strong. This has a nice smoothness and almost a sugary aftertaste and is perfect for an afternoon tea.

Okay so I steeped for less time than previously. Very nice. Definitely assertive. I don’t notice as much astringency as before so perhaps I got the time down for this one finally. :) It’s almost a little peaty, which is good.

Thank you TheTeaFairy for sending this one my way.

I was drinking this at work today. Not quite sure what I think about it. It reminds me of coffee – not that it really tastes like coffee, but it had that thick mouth feel and was deep and rich. I thought it was a bit roasty, but with some subtle fruity notes. This might be a bit too complex for my tastes – or I’m not knowledgeable enough to really get it. All in all I liked it, but it’s not my favorite.

A lovely straight forward Indian tea! There is not a ton of complexity here but it is very good quality! There is a nice difference here between your typical Indian Black so you should give it a try – especially if you love Indian black teas!
This one has a nice twang note within it – plucky like.
Slight black pepper flavor as well but very subtle and could easily be missed!

Liberteas sent me some of this! Thanks so much! You know I like a black tea in the morning! This ‘brews up’ pretty dark and I’m not sure why but I’m smelling a very VERY faint hint of maple to-the-nose. It’s quite nice!

Taste-wise this tea doesn’t take you on a roller coaster ride – it’s a nice even-steven medium strength black tea from start to finish. It’s slightly sweet and has a subtle/mellowy-malt to it. Right in the middle of the sip a hint-of-walnut taste pops in to say hello!

Yum! This is tasty!

A good cup of black tea to start the day! It has much of the flavor characteristics of a breakfast blend, but not quite as bold.

Thanks for the free sample Stacy :)

Straight forward and consistent. It’s like a good book or a best friend that you can turn to in crisis… not the kind of friend you party with, but the old, reliable kind that just gets better with every sip. Better sweetened, and a fairly fruity aroma which is unusual for a black tea… slightly astringent, but not unpleasantly so. The kind of tea to have on hand at all times as it’s so reliable and economical. A pleaser for sure!

I steeped three big cups out of the same leaves of this today at work and enjoyed them all so much that I figured I’d better come home and place another Butiki order to get more of this before it runs out….only to find that Stacy’s been out of this one for a while now and I just hadn’t noticed! Being that this was my first time trying it, I guess it wasn’t really on my radar so much. I didn’t even really remember ordering it the first time. I just grabbed one of the little black bags out of my box of other little black bags on my way to work today without paying attention. Now I’m sad I can’t get more :( That’s not to say that I didn’t end up placing another Butiki order anyway…..
