Scheherazade’s Super Sipdown (Long) Weekend #7

I’m still learning which oolongs I love and which I don’t, so I rarely pass up an opportunity to extend my experiences of this kind of tea. I’ve previously tried Teavivre’s Strawberry Oolong and loved it, so I’m hoping this one will be as good.

I don’t think there’s ever any need to doubt Butiki. This one smells delcious while brewing — pure, sweet, natural strawberry with a hint of buttery, slightly vegetal oolong. I followed the parameters with this one for a first cup — 4 minutes in 180 degrees water.

The flavour is very much like the scent. It’s delicately sweet, with a fresh, juicy hit of strawberry, and the smooth, light, buttered green beans flavour of the oolong lurking in the background. The strawberry is the real star, though, and the green notes of the oolong actually help to enhance the flavour. It’s a great pairing. One I’d definitely consider restocking in the future!
