I’ve had a couple teas from Brutaliteas that I haven’t loved but this is probably the first one that I was just simply disappointed by. To be fair, I think cantaloupe is by far the trickiest type of melon to convey flavour wise in a blend – I’m pretty sure the only really good one I’ve tried is Butiki’s Cantaloupe & Cream from like seven years ago…

So, it’s not that it tasted bad per say, it’s just that there wasn’t a trace of melon to be found in the cup. Instead it was a medium bodied and very floral oolong with orchid and grassier type notes and then a distinct jasmine addition to it. Nice, but I don’t want jasmine in my cantaloupe teas. I want cantaloupe or, at the very least, just any type of melon.

This is mainly just a green oolong, with the tiniest hint of cantaloupe in the aftertaste. I was hoping for more of a cantaloupe flavor, but the mildness of the cantaloupe is actually quite nice. This would probably be excellent as an iced tea!
