From Assand

ASSAND is distributed exclusively by X5 Retail Group. As of this year, the ASSAND brand has increased the range of tea to nine flavors.

The flavor palette of the range is rather traditional for the Russian market. In this case, it was necessary that the brand would not surprise, but become closer to the consumer and would evoke emotional response. The tea segment is one of the most competitive. In order to remain exciting to existing consumers and attract new ones, the brand needs to constantly change its appearance. High competition in the tea category requires the brand to be different from competitors, naming included.

A tea bag received with postcard from postcrossing community once again.

It’s always nice when they include a sample of a tea or, rather and often, just a tea bag. This is new one for my collection of outer tea wrappings and… sounded so good I decided to brew it instantly.

Rosehip and hibiscus, combined with black tea is indeed Russian traditional blending I think. I never saw it elsewhere.

But the tea, even though it was only a tea bag, was pretty good. It was fruity/punchy taste of rosehip and hibiscus wasn’t too tart at all. Sadly, those flavours overpowered “long leaf” black tea base. Maybe it was, afterall, mellowing the “fruit” flavours, but not a single note from the base is in the taste. If it was more present, I would be happier. But honestly, not sure about Russian market tastes…

EDIT: I see Cameron B. found a better pic than I. Thanks for changing it!

Ha ha, I tend to monitor the new teas because often there are spam ones for me to delete. :P
